Match details What: Women's Euro 2025 quarter-final Where: St Jakob-Park, Basel When: 8pm BST, Saturday July 19 How to watch: ITV1 Les Bleues should stay on course for Euros glory The French have barely broken sweat at Women's Euro 2025 so far and are a solid pick at 11/10 to take down Germany in the quarter-finals. These European heavyweights find themselves in the tougher half of the draw, but France especially will take that in their stride, having topped a section featuring the previous two European champions – England and the Netherlands – in the group stage. Les Bleues made the Lionesses look amateurish in their opener before thrashing Wales 4-1 and the Dutch 5-2, and their pace and dynamism in the final third should cause problems for the Germans. Die Nationalelf are still finding their feet under Christian Wück and the confidence built by their 2-0 and 2-1 wins over Poland and Denmark respectively was wiped out by their 4-1 defeat to Sweden on matchday three. The sending-off of Carlotta Wamser after 31 minutes did not help them in that game, especially with captain and fellow right back Giulia Gwinn already out of the tournament with injury, and they could struggle to pick themselves up. Les Bleues have won all 11 of their games under Laurent Bonadei this year and should book their place in the semi-finals. Cascarino can trouble Germans France are blessed with quality in the attacking third, most notably in the form of striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto, but Delphine Cascarino is also having an impressive tournament. The San Diego Wave ace exhibited a serious creative threat down the right against England, assisting the opener, but she also likes to have a crack at goal herself. Cascarino has already bagged two goals in two appearances in this tournament and has averaged three shots per game. Against fairly permeable opponents, she looks a great bet to score at 12/5. Spirited Switzerland fall against Spain
Friday evening marked the end of the journey for Viola Calligaris and Alisha Lehmann at UEFA Women's EURO 2025, with hosts Switzerland falling to world champions Spain despite a spirited showing. Spain came into the game as strong favourites, but the hosts proved to be a more-than-stubborn test in Bern. Despite winning an early penalty, which they missed, Spain struggled to break down a solid Swiss backline, which included Calligaris from the first minute. While Viola played the entire 90 minutes and put in a good performance despite the 2-0 loss, Alisha Lehmann came off the bench late on. BIANCONERE NEXT IN ACTION AT WEURO 2025 Next up is the fourth and final Round-of-16 game as Pauline Peyraud-Magnin and France take on Germany on Saturday evening, with kick-off set for 21:00 CEST. The winners of that game will take on Spain in the second semi-final on Wednesday, 23 July.
