Funeral plans set for Frankfort boy swept away in floodwaters
FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX 56) — Funeral arrangements have been released for the Frankfort child who died after he was swept away by floodwaters last week.
Officials said dispatchers were called around 6:30 a.m. on April 4 to the Hickory Hills area regarding a boy who was caught in floodwaters while walking to his school bus stop. After an 'extensive search and rescue operation,' they said his body was found around 8:45 a.m., about half a mile from where he was swept away.

The Franklin County Coroner's Office identified him as 9-year-old Gabriel Andrews.
According to an obituary, Andrews' family will receive loved ones from 5-10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 8. A funeral service will be held the following day at 1 p.m. in the chapel of the Thacker Memorial Funeral Home, with burial to follow at the Burnett Family Cemetery in Pikeville.
Andrews died only three days after his ninth birthday, per Thacker Memorial Funeral Home.
Franklin County Public Schools Superintendent Mark Kopp said Andrews' death was 'a horrific tragedy' during a news conference on April 4.

'The entire Franklin County School System is praying for the family and friends of those directly affected by the events this morning.
