EFL: 21 games in League One and Two on opening Saturday
Update: Date: 15:43 BST Title: Post Content: Bradford 2-0 Wycombe I want to say Joe Wright has gone close to making it 3-0 for Bradford, but just everything that could deny him a goal has just happened. His header was tipped onto the crossbar, but at the same time the referee blew his whistle for a foul. And in the background, the flag also went up for offside. Update: Date: 15:43 BST Title: Post Content: Plymouth 0-2 Barnsley BIG save in the Barnsley goal by debutant Murphy Cooper to keep out Caleb Watts' header. The home side trying to get back into the game before the break. Update: Date: 15:40 BST Title: Post Content: MK Dons 0-0 Oldham Approaching the 40th minute of this game between one of the promotion favourites and a team looking to consolidate after winning promotion last season. No shots on target so far. Update: Date: 15:37 BST Title: Post Content: Barnet 0-1 Fleetwood Another chance for the visitors as a long ball puts Will Davies in and he looks to nod the ball over the out rushing Owen Evans but, this time, Evans' positioning saves him and he makes a comfortable catch. Update: Date: 15:36 BST Title: Around the grounds in League One Content: #bbcefl Fraser Murray opens his Wigan Athletic scoring account in his first game since joining them from Kilmarnock in the summer. He meets a cross from Joe Hungbo and finds the bottom corner with a cool finish against Northampton Town. At the New York Stadium in Rotherham, Sam Nombe has scored his and the hosts' second goal of the day to put the Millers 2-0 up against Port Vale. And it has only got worse for the Valiants, as Jaheim Headley has been shown a straight red card for violent conduct after clashing with Nombe. Update: Date: 15:34 BST Title: Post Content: Plymouth Argyle 0-2 Barnsley Brent PilnickBBC Sport at Home Park Two shots, 2-0. Barnsley have been a model of efficiency this half. It has been pretty much all Plymouth Argyle, but a couple of mistakes have cost the hosts a second goal. A poor clearance by Brendan Wiredu was equally poorly headed away by Victor Palsson and Adam Phillips' superb volley left Luca Ashby-Hammond with no chance of saving. It's the Barnsley fans who are making all the noise right now. Update: Date: 15:34 BST Title: Around the grounds in League Two Content: #bbcefl Kadeem Harris has made a memorable debut for Salford City, scoring this time at the right end to cancel out his early own goal against Crewe Alexandra to level the scores at one apiece. Meanwhile, Tranmere Rovers have opened their account for the season via Connor Jennings' close-range strike away to Colchester United. Update: Date: 15:32 BST Title: 'It was like time stood still' Content: Plymouth 0-2 Barnsley Andy GiddingsSports Editor, BBC Sheffield It was like time stood still. Adam Phillips took aim and fired it in. Well worth the long trip in the sunshine. The Reds fans are chanting "we are top of the league" to our right. Update: Date: 15:31 BST Title: GOAL: Plymouth Argyle 0-2 Barnsley Content: Adam Phillips (30 mins) From bad to worse for the relegated hosts! Barnsley midfielder Adam Phillips crashes a superb volley into the corner after the home side make a total mess of clearing a ball forward. Update: Date: 15:28 BST Title: 'That mistake had been coming' Content: Barnet 0-1 Fleetwood Chris PeddyBBC Sport at The Hive Owen Evans will not want to see this again. The Barnet goalkeeper has been caught on the ball a couple of times already and this time he's punished for it. He takes too long on the edge of his area and Fleetwood new boy Will Davies steals the ball and has all the time in the world to jog through and score his first goal for the club. Evans has since made a strong save to deny Mark Helm but that mistake had been coming. Update: Date: 15:27 BST Title: Post Content: Newport v Notts County (kick-off delayed until 16:00 BST) Just a reminder that Newport v Notts County in League Two has been delayed until 16:00 BST after Rodney Parade had to be evacuated so an air ambulance could land. A supporter has been taken away after falling ill in the stand. We'll keep you updated if we hear any more on their condition. Update: Date: 15:27 BST Title: Around the grounds in League One Content: #bbcefl It took Burton Albion months to get up and running last season, but Charlie Webster has ensured they have started their latest campaign with a bang. He unleashes a rocket of a shot to put them 1-0 up against a Mansfield Town side managed by long-time former Brewers boss Nigel Clough. Meanwhile, an own goal from Finley Burns has put Lincoln City 1-0 up against Reading. Update: Date: 15:24 BST Title: Post Content: Plymouth 0-1 Barnsley The home side look to get back into it but Caleb Watts, who had a goal ruled out for a foul in the build up earlier, sees his shot deflect wide. The Pilgrims have had just a shade over 30% of possession so far. Update: Date: 15:23 BST Title: GOAL: Barnet 0-1 Fleetwood Content: Will Davies (22 mins) An absolute calamity from Barnet goalkeeper Owen Evans! Evans takes four touches in an attempt to play out the back, the final of which is far too heavy and he is disposed by Will Davies who has the simplest of tasks to run the ball into an empty net. There is playing out from the back and then there is that - awful start for life in League Two for Evans. Davies will not score an easier goal this season. Update: Date: 15:21 BST Title: Around the grounds in League One Content: #bbcefl Port Vale haven't had the start that fellow promoted League Two side Bradford have enjoyed so far. They find themselves 1-0 down at Rotherham, with Sam Nombe putting the hosts ahead there. Meanwhile, Stevenage have restored parity against Blackpool with Jamie Reid managing to get onto a poor back pass before rounding the keeper to slot home. Update: Date: 15:19 BST Title: DISALLOWED GOAL Content: Barnet 0-0 Fleetwood Since a slightly nervy start, Barnet have been on the front foot. After a free-kick isn't properly dealt with, the ball finds Ryan Glover whose shot falls kindly at the feet at Danny Coilinge who tidily tucks the ball home. The linesman has his flag up, however, and the home fans' jubilations are cut short. The replays showed that one was extremely close. Update: Date: 15:18 BST Title: 'Burst the atmosphere' Content: Plymouth Argyle 0-1 Barnsley Brent PilnickBBC Sport at Home Park 'You wait, they'll score now' said the Argyle fan sat in the row in front of me seconds after Caleb Watts' goal was disallowed. He should go and buy a lottery ticket now as his prediction has come true, and it's burst the atmosphere here at Home Park. You have to feel sorry for Brendan Wiredu as there was little he could do as Davis Keillor-Dunn's excellent free-kick struck him at the back post. Barnsley have something to build on now. Update: Date: 15:17 BST Title: 'A dreamland start' Content: Bradford 2-0 Wycombe Gary JonesFormer Bradford City captain on BBC Radio Leeds Head over the ball and Bobby Pointon strikes it with his laces. The keeper had no chance. It's a dreamland start! Update: Date: 15:17 BST Title: GOAL: Bradford 2-0 Wycombe Content: Bobby Pointon Bradford are loving League One life right now! Bobby Pointon finds the bottom corner with a fierce low shot from outside the box to double the newly promoted side's early lead. Update: Date: 15:15 BST Title: League Two latest Content: #bbcefl We have our first goals in League Two this season! Walsall have taken the lead against Swindon thanks to Evan Weir's free-kick. Crewe Alexandra have gone one up at Salford due to an own goal from Kadeem Harris eight minutes into his league debut for the Ammies. Grimsby Town have opened their account, too, via Jaze Kabia's 10th minute penalty at home to Crawley.

Fraser Murray latest player to exit Killie as Kettlewell eyes first signing
It's understood Killie are closing in on former Livingston skipper Jamie Brandon. Fraser Murray is the latest player to exit Rugby Park, Kilmarnock announced today. The 26-year-old midfielder is set to join Wigan Athletic on a two-year deal after his deal expires at Killie this week. Murray spent four years at Rugby Park and made 28 league appearances last season, netting four times before joining the English League One outfit. Murray is the latest Killie player to exit the club since the season ended with Joe Wright, Danny Armstrong, Innes Cameron and Bobby Wales among those leaving. A club spokesperson said: "Fraser Murray will depart upon expiry of his contract this week to join Wigan Athletic. "We'd like to place on record our thanks to Fraser for his contributions at Rugby Park over the last 4 years, from winning the Championship to playing in Europe. Best of luck, Fraser!" New boss Stuart Kettlewell has yet to bring any new signings to the club since he was appointed on May 26. It's understood that Jamie Brandon could be Kettlewell's first signing with Livingston announcing today that their skipper won't renew his contract with David Martindale's newly-promoted side.

A former Hibs midfielder is reportedly close to snubbing a contract offer from one Premiership rival to join English League One club Wigan Athletic. Fraser Murray came through the youth ranks at Hibs and made his mark early with a goal in a 3-0 Scottish Challenge Cup win against Highland League side Turriff United in September 2016, before making his league debut against Raith Rovers later in the same season. Murray's progress was rewarded with a new deal in October 2018 as he racked up 17 senior appearances - but his first consistent experience of first-team football came during a loan spell with Championship club Dunfermline Athletic during the 2020/21 campaign. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad Murray joined Kilmarnock on a permanent deal a the end of the same season and the former Scotland youth international has gone on to make over 120 appearances for the Rugby Park club over the last five years. After scoring four goals and providing three assists in 39 games in all competitions last season, Murray has attracted attention from clubs in both England and Scotland after his current contract with Killie comes to a close. Wigan Today have reported the Latics are set to see off competition from a number of their League One rivals plus Scottish clubs like Kilmarnock, who hoped to get him on a new contract. The likes of Barnsley, Bolton Wanderers and Stockport County were all said to be keen on a deal for Murray. Head coach Ryan Lowe was reportedly at Kilmarnock's penultimate game of the season as they fell to a 3-0 defeat at Motherwell and appears to have seen enough from Murray during an 89-minute display to convince him to make the 26-year-old his first signing of the summer. The report also claims Wigan are looking to complete a second swoop on the Premiership and are keen on a deal for Ross County forward Ronan Hale - but will reportedly face competition from clubs in England and Scotland. Findlay return & firepower - your transfer window priorities
We asked for your views on what Kilmarnock must do in the summer transfer what some of you said:Kenny: We desperately need some firepower up front and we need to hopefully get Stuart Findlay, Joe Wright and Fraser Murray re-signed! We struggled last season due to lack of signings, when Findlay was injured we let in goals like a sieve. Hopefully we get a couple of big signings We have a team full of ageing players where the most you will get out of them is a yearly contract. This is good for the players concerned but not the team. Findlay and Bruce Anderson will probably go. Bobby Wales and Innes Cameron have gone and we don't exactly have money available to buy decent players. We are in deep We could be looking at a major overhaul of the squad. A keeper, two full-backs and centre-backs to start with. The midfield might be okay but we'll need to replace Daniel Armstrong as well as Cameron and Wales. There are a few youngsters who might get a chance, Ben Brannan, Chris Burke and Archie Traynor for We need another goalkeeper, striker, creative midfielder and Findlay back, If nothing else we need to sign at least two strikers who are capable of scoring 15 to 25 goals apiece per season and two wingers capable of servicing them competently week in week out!Steven: The team needs a strong spine, a new goalkeeper, central defender, passing midfielder to partner David Watson and a goalscoring striker. The team should be built around Findlay! He is the first and main priority. We need additions all over the pitch, mixed with bringing through the youth but Findlay is the biggest addition that we can make. There are some names on the out-of-contract list that I'd keep but I think the squad needs freshening If we have 12 players out of contract I think it's time the manager starts showing the fans how he is going to replace them. I would make Findlay my first port of call before Hearts sign him up. Has been a rock in this defence. We also need to find a new dependable goalkeeper as with the loss of Kieran O'Hara, Robby McCrorie isn't up to being the number one. Building the team round Watson would be the best as it show our academy is producing talented kids who can start in the first team.
