Angels Announce Exciting News After Dodgers Game
The Los Angeles Angels have as much momentum as a 20-25 team could possibly have after sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers on the road. They won 6-2 on Friday, 11-9 on Saturday, and 6-4 on Sunday, completing their first three-game Freeway Series sweep in 15 years (via MLB). The Angels are now just one game behind the Athletics for fourth place in the AL West, and have a four-game set against them in Sacramento beginning on Monday. Right-hander Jose Soriano (2-4, 3.46 ERA) will start for Los Angeles, while right-hander J.T. Ginn (1-1, 4.61 ERA) will start for the Athletics. Bachman had been on the injured list with thoracic outlet syndrome. He has 11 MLB career appearances, which were all for the Angels in 2023. The 25-year-old is 1-2 with a 3.18 ERA and 1.65 WHIP. Los Angeles took Bachman ninth overall in the 2021 MLB Draft. The 6-foot-1-inch, 235-pounder is 5-11 with a 4.47 ERA and 1.36 WHIP across 44 minor league games. Meanwhile, the Angels are 5-5 in their last 10 games and are 11-15 on the road. Their -59 run differential is 25th in baseball, one spot ahead of the Athletics (-61). Dodgers Make Shocking Decision on 2-Time Champion Before Angels Game
As MLB Rivalry Weekend draws to a close on Sunday, the Los Angeles Dodgers have yet to win a game against the Los Angeles Angels in the Freeway Series. The Angels spoiled Clayton Kershaw's return to the mound on Saturday, beating the Dodgers in a late-night battle with a score of 11-9. Advertisement Although starting pitching health has been an issue all season, Los Angeles is beginning to shift focus and make moves with its position players. A sad move took place when the Dodgers made the move of designating long-time catcher Austin Barnes for assignment on May 14. It appears that they aren't done with making moves to bring in some younger talent. Dodgers Designate veteran Chris Taylor for assignment While they are on a two-game losing streak heading into Sunday, it seems that manager Dave Roberts and the Dodgers are moving on from another veteran. Advertisement Los Angeles made the move of designating 34-year-old outfielder Chris Taylor for assignment. Taylor has been with the Dodgers since 2016, appearing in four World Series in 2017, 2018, 2020 and 2024 – and helping them win titles in 2020 and 2024. He's struggled so far in 2025, having a batting average of .200, a slugging percentage of .257, and an OPS of .457 while hitting for two RBIs. It seems that the move was made after news came out over the weekend that Dodgers' multi-tool player Tommy Edman will be returning from the injured-list. Edman has missed the last 16 games after sustaining an ankle injury in late April. The Dodgers will look to snap their two-game losing streak and beat the Angels on Sunday afternoon.

Angels Predicted to Trade All-Star Pitcher to Rival Dodgers
The Los Angeles Dodgers (28-15) and Los Angeles Angels (17-25) are trending in opposite directions right now. Throughout the 2025 MLB campaign, the defending-champion Dodgers are playing elite baseball despite a depleted pitching rotation. 30 miles down Interstate 5, the Angels are having a tough time, showcasing the worst bullpen (6.97 ERA) in baseball. Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts and Los Angeles Angels manager Ron Washington greet before a preseason game at Angel Lee-Imagn Images Given the current competitive landscape, it seems the Dodgers will be buyers and the Angels sellers as the July trade deadline approaches. Per Bleacher Report, MLB insider Jon Heyman predicts the Halos will wheel-and-deal with the "Boys in Blue." Advertisement Notably, the last player to go from Orange County to Chavez Ravine was the all-great Shohei Ohtani, but that move didn't involve a trade between the regional neighbors. In 2025, Heyman sees Angels LHP Tyler Anderson being traded back to the Dodgers. Anderson pitched 30 games for Los Angeles' National League side in 2022, and the 6-foot-2 southpaw could be eager for a reunion up north. Heyman claims, "[The Dodgers] are a threat to get anybody (...) but I'm going to put an old Dodger back there: Tyler Anderson, who's pitching well. "I don't think there's anything wrong with throwing 90 if you can get guys out. [Anderson] would be my guy for the Dodgers," Heyman expressed about his trade proposal. High velocity or not, Anderson has earned All-Star nods with both ball clubs from the Southland. Advertisement In 2025, Anderson has posted a 4.53 skill-interactive ERA over eight starts, yielding a 2-1 record. With the state of the Dodgers' pitching staff, they certainly could use another consistent left-handed starter to complement Cy Young-hopeful Yoshinobu Yamamoto. As for the Dodgers, they'll host the surging Athletics in a Thursday rubber match. Projected starters are Oswaldo Bido and Matt Sauer; first pitch is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET.

Dodgers Manager Dave Roberts Makes Andy Pages Announcement
The defending-champion Los Angeles Dodgers (29-19) are presently in a rut, having dropped a season-high four consecutive contests. After being swept at home in the Freeway Series over the weekend, the Dodgers re-called slugging outfielder Teoscar Hernandez back to the big leagues. Naturally, the move jettisoned James Outman in lieu of Andy Pages. Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder Andy Pages celebrates after hitting a three-run home run at Dodger Kamin-Oncea-Imagn Images Pages — who is shining behind a .827 OPS over 44 games in 2025 — is not going anywhere under the current plans, but Dodger fans and others noticed his absence on Monday night versus the Arizona Diamondbacks. Advertisement In Monday's series opener at Dodger Stadium, Pages was given the evening off. From left to right, Los Angeles started Michael Conforto, Hyeseong Kim and the aforementioned Hernandez in the outfield. Still, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts was sure to voice support for Pages after the loss. Following the game in LA, Roberts expressed to the Dodgers beat that Pages, 24, is "an everyday player" who will need time to rest here and there. Given Los Angeles' many multi-positional athletes like Kim, Tommy Edman and Mookie Betts, Pages will still see significant time in either left or center field. Entering May 20, Pages' 2.2 WAR ranks second best on the team this year, trailing only Shohei Ohtani (2.7 WAR). The Cuban outfielder is also tied for second on the Dodgers in home runs (9) and third in hits (46). Advertisement In just his second MLB campaign, Pages has proven his productivity all around the diamond. He's even done well to cut down his strikeouts, going from 24.4 K% in 2024 to 23.2%. Related: Angels Predicted to Trade All-Star Pitcher to Rival Dodgers Pages is undoubtedly one of the best three options in the outfield for Los Angeles right now, and that's of course considering Hernandez' recent return. For reference, Conforto is slashing just .168/.304/.273. Tuesday's game at Chavez Ravine between the Dodgers and D-backs is scheduled for 10:10 p.m. ET. Probable pitchers are Ryne Nelson and Yoshinobu Yamamoto—expect to see Pages out there.

Clayton Kershaw Changes Tune About Retiring With the Dodgers
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. The Los Angeles Dodgers were happy to see franchise icon Clayton Kershaw return to the mound, though the results weren't what they have grown accustomed to. After his season was cut short due to lower-body injuries last year, Kershaw made his debut during the team's Freeway Series with the Los Angeles Angels. But he wasn't able to recapture his vintage form, giving up five earned runs in just four innings. "Obviously, I wanted to pitch better," Kershaw said after the game, per Sonja Chen. "I need to pitch better going forward." The three-time Cy Young Award winner will get a chance to improve this season as the Dodgers struggle to field healthy starters. But after signing a one-season deal to return to the team this year, it's unclear what next year might have in store for him. (Photo by)Speaking to MLB Network shortly before his debut start, Kershaw was asked if it was important to him to end his career in a Dodgers uniform. In response, he admitted he's had a change in perspective about ever playing for another team. "I think if you asked me that three or four years ago, I would have said maybe not. But now, yes," Kershaw said. "Being a Dodger for this long, there's a lot of gratitude on my end." Kershaw established himself as the franchise ace for the Dodgers in 2014, when he signed a seven-year, $215 million deal. He then took a three-year contract to stay in 2018 and has agreed to one- or two-year pacts since then. As he looks to fight past a rough start to his 18th season with the team, it seems more definite than ever that Kershaw will be hanging up his cleats as a lifetime Dodger, whenever he gets to that point.
