At 43, dressed in cream and the club's purple-green ribbon, her gesture of gratitude in return was a simple nod of the head and a small wave, yet it spoke volumes.
In the Royal Box, she greeted tennis legend Billie Jean King with a polite handshake after King curtseyed.

Princess Catherine, the Princess of Wales, first shared her cancer diagnosis and chemotherapy journey in March 2024, explaining that after treatment, the recovery has been
'really, really difficult'.
She described the emotional strain of coming off treatment:
'You put on a brave face… then it's like, 'I can crack on,' but actually… the phase afterwards is really difficult'.
She marked her remission in January 2025 and gradually returned to public life at events such as Trooping the Colour and the French state dinner. Only six months later, her appearance at Wimbledon on July 12, 2025, as tournament patron saw her delivering the Venus Rosewater Dish to champion Iga Świątek and offering words of comfort to runner-up Amanda Anisimova. Her presence and compassion highlighted both her public role and personal strength.
