Long-term transfer target hints he's READY for Liverpool move
Frendrup a Serie A statistical marvel Following another stellar campaign for the Serie A side, Frendrup is once again considered a target. Last month JuveFC revealed that Liverpool were among many potential suitors for the Denmark international, who scored two goals for his club side in the Italian top flight last season. Advertisement 'Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Brentford from England are also keen on the midfielder. Liverpool is seeking to bolster their ahead of next season, with manager Arne Slot reportedly considering Frendrup's energetic and combative style as an ideal addition to his team.' And it's no wonder Frendrup has stood out to Slot and his staff. Across the Serie A season according to FOTMOB, he won 61 tackles - placing him in the 100th percentile among players in his position. He also finished in the 96th percentile for duels won (173), the 100th for interceptions (47), the 97th for recoveries (184) and the 100th for possessions won in the final third (20). Frendrup admits he's a Liverpool fan? In a recent interview the 24-year-old hinted at his ideal destination when discussing transfer links with other clubs. Advertisement In a potential sign of encouragement for Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes, the midfielder expressed a preference for Liverpool. "I am flattered by links with some big clubs,' he told GIVEMESPORT. "However, my only focus is on Genoa. I like to stay in the present. It's nice to see my name mentioned with Premier League or European teams, but I think it's important to keep my feet on the ground and stay in the present. "As a child, I grew up watching a lot of the Premier League, and Liverpool games in particular. I have always liked Steven Gerrard. He was the player I watched the most when I was younger. Generally, people in Denmark either follow Liverpool or Manchester United!" Brentford and West Ham are among the Premier League teams mooted as potential destinations in the same GIVEMESPORT report - while Fiorentina and AC Milan are also thought to be keen.

Liverpool transfer news: Club-record striker BID, €90m midfield duo eyed, Barcelona offer
It's a big weekend for Liverpool, but the transfer news and speculation isn't getting any quieter. The Reds' full focus will surely be on winning the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United at Wembley tomorrow. But as well as thinking about how to buy tickets for Liverpool vs Newcastle, fans in the modern age are always keeping an eye out for the latest news and gossip. Luckily, we've got it all rounded up for you here, with LFC linked with some big names ahead of the summer… Following recent links with Newcastle's Alexander Isak, who they'll be facing at Wembley tomorrow, there is now also speculation that Liverpool could be set to move for Julian Alvarez. The Argentine only joined Atletico Madrid from Manchester City last summer, but he's made a superb start to life in La Liga. Liverpool are now apparently ready to try offering big money, possibly over £100m, to bring Alvarez back to English football next season. Liverpool are also eyeing up a move for Genoa's young midfield talent Morten Frendrup, CaughtOffside understands. The Merseyside giants have been among the clubs to keep a close eye on Frendrup's progress, with Genoa ready to sell the Denmark international for €30m. Another midfielder being linked with Liverpool is Wolves star Joao Gomes, who is said to be close to a move to Anfield for €60m, according to reports in Brazil. It remains to be seen if Liverpool will sign both Gomes and Frendrup, especially as they already have a lot of options in the middle of the park. If one or more new midfielders end up joining, Liverpool will surely offload Wataru Endo and perhaps another player in that area of their squad. Finally, LFC striker Darwin Nunez has offered himself to Barcelona in a surprise move ahead of the summer. While it makes sense that the Uruguay international's future is in some doubt, it's perhaps hard to imagine a club like Barca being interested in him. Nunez has largely flopped at Liverpool and it remains to be seen how easy it will be for them to find a buyer for him this summer.

Exclusive: Liverpool rival Aston Villa & Juventus for exciting €30m transfer
Liverpool are one of a number of clubs eyeing up a potential transfer move for Genoa's talented young midfielder Morten Frendrup, understands. The 23-year-old has earned rave reviews for his performances in Serie A, and it looks like it could become increasingly difficult for Genoa to keep hold of him this summer. Sources with a close understanding of the situation have informed CaughtOffside that Liverpool, Aston Villa and Brentford are all keen on bringing Frendrup to England, while Juventus are among his biggest admirers in Italy. Frendrup is a hard-working defensive midfielder who can also operate as a full-back, and Premier League scouts feel he'd be well suited to the English game. Still, Genoa won't make it easy for transfer suitors as they're likely to ask for at least €30m to let the Denmark international go, CaughtOffside understands. Frendrup is not yet the biggest name in European football, but he's fast earning himself quite the reputation after his success in Serie A. In the 2023/24 season, Frendrup led the Italian top flight for balls won (122) and successful tackles (131), while he was also fourth in the league for distance covered. It seems clear that Frendrup has it in him to move up to a higher level, and Liverpool manager Arne Slot believes the youngster could be a useful addition to his squad. Still, there's already a lot of competition for places in the LFC midfield, so it will be interesting to see if the player himself perhaps leans towards a club like Villa or Brentford, where he could play more often.
