New Video Released in Missing Bikepacker Case
The Fresno County Sheriff's Department has released a new video showing bikepacker Tiffany Slaton riding her bikepacking rig she was using at the time of her disappearance. Slaton, 27, of Jeffersonville, Georgia, was last seen in the Huntington Lake area of California. Her family believes her destination may have been Mono Hot Springs. The video was recorded April 8 in the Santa Cruz area as Slaton was making her way to Fresno County, and was submitted after FCSO asked the public to notify them of any recordings of Slaton. The other person in the video is not a suspect in the case. Slaton's family last spoke with her on April 20, and a member of the public confirmed seeing her at Cressman's General Store in Shaver Lake on April 24. The FCSO said in its post that it scaled back its search on May 10 after no finding no sign of Slaton or her gear. "On Saturday, May 10, 2025, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office scaled back its active search for missing camper, Tiffany Slaton." the FCSO post said. "This after our Search and Rescue (SAR) team spent five straight days / nights combing the mountain area for Slaton and her belongings. The search spanned nearly 600 square miles, stretching from Mono Hot Springs to Wishon Reservoir, Pine Flat Lake to Auberry and all areas in between. Unfortunately, SAR never found anything related to Slaton." Detectives are now asking the public to notify them of any video they may have recorded in the search area on or around April 24. This includes surveillance cameras and dash cameras. There is a possibility Slaton travelled along Auberry Road and past Pine Ridge School in order to access Highway 168, FCSO Slaton was riding an Lectric XP 3.0 eBike that has a range of up to 45 miles and a top speed of 28 mph. She was towing a red and yellow child carrier, and using a green and gray two-person tent. Anyone who thinks they've seen Tiffany Slaton or signs of her gear is asked to call the Fresno County Sheriff's Department dispatch at (559) 600-3111. The Slaton family has set up a GoFundMe page to help cover travel from Georgia to California and related search expenses.
