MEXICO, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — The New York State Police (NYSP) are investigating a shooting that happened early Saturday morning in the parking lot of Tops on Main Street in Mexico.

At 2:54 a.m., Troopers received a 911 call reporting a fight at the Tops parking lot. Through their investigation, they found that the suspect arrived in a dark-colored Chevrolet pickup truck, exited his truck and engaged in a physical fight with the victim.
NYSP said during the fight the man who arrived in the pickup truck shot the victim who has been identified as 32-year-old Jacob Walsh from Mexico, New York.
Troopers pronounced Walsh dead at the scene.
The suspect was last seen leaving the Tops heading west on Main Street in the dark-colored Chevrolet pickup truck. Police described the suspect as a white male wearing a green camouflage shirt with a hunting tag on the back.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the New York State Police at Troop D Headquarters (315) 366-6000.
