Mariah Carey set for triumphant return to Australia

Mariah Carey is heading back Down Under for the first time in over a decade, and she's bringing the party with her. The five-time Grammy winner will headline Fridayz Live 2025, a blockbuster festival tour spanning four major Australian cities this October. The singer wil be joined by chart-topping stars Pitbull and Wiz Khalifa sharing the stage. 'I missed you terribly, certainly the fans and the people, the beautiful land and the animals, you know, it's Australia, c'mon!' Carey enthused. She confirmed her excitement to reconnect with her Aussie supporters after more than 12 years away, according to Daily Mail. Fridayz Live, which celebrates R&B, hip-hop, and pop, is making its grand return after a year's hiatus. The 2025 line-up is its most dazzling yet. Alongside Mariah Carey, fans can expect high-energy sets from Pitbull, Wiz Khalifa, Eve, Lil Jon, Tinie Tempah, and Jordin Sparks. The festival will kick off in Brisbane on 17 October, before heading to Sydney, Perth. It will then wrap up in Melbourne on 25 October. Most events are 18+ only, but Sydney and Melbourne will offer all-ages sections, ensuring younger fans can experience the magic too. Mariah Carey's return coincides with the 20th anniversary of her acclaimed album, The Emancipation of Mimi . The album, originally released in 2005, was hailed as a comeback and spawned hits like We Belong Together and It's Like That. It sold over 10 million copies worldwide and earned her three Grammy Awards. 'Reliving the splendour of The Emancipation of Mimi brings back so many memories,' Carey shared on social media. 'This album has some of my biggest hits to date, as well as some personal favourites that are very special to me.' A special 20th anniversary edition of the album will drop on 30 May, featuring new remixes and unreleased tracks, perfect for fans old and new. Mariah Carey's last planned Australian tour in 2018 was cancelled due to scheduling conflicts, making this return even sweeter. 'The Celebration of Mimi tour is the perfect opportunity to reconnect,' said an event promoter. 'Plans are underway to include Australia in the tour itinerary later this year.' Mariah's enduring appeal, her legendary vocals, and a line-up packed with hitmakers promise a festival experience to remember. As she told fans, 'Let me know what your favourite Mimi lyric is and stay tuned for more surprises yet to come! Love, MC.' Let us know by leaving a comment below, or send a WhatsApp to 060 011 021 1.
