Napoli Getting Busy and Closing In on Two Acquisitions
Aurelio De Laurentiis is back in Italy after a vacation and a business trip to the United States and is set for a series of meetings to shape the future of Napoli. Having already secured the Champions League qualification, the Partenopei can establish the summer budget and accelerate for a few targets, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays. In particular, they have gained the inside track for Oumar Solet from Udinese. They are haggling over his price tag. They will be informed if he receives other offers. The coach is clamoring to sign another highly-rated defender. He discarded Rafa Marin in the past round, adapting Mathias Olivera to the role. The Friulani star has logged 16 appearances since moving to Italy as a free agent. Napoli have also obtained a sort of option on Velez's Alvaro Montoro. The 18-year-old is breaking out and has already accumulated 34 appearances in the pros. He has scored twice and provided one assist. The Azzurri will need one or likely more midfielders given the uncertain future of a pair of linchpins and the increased need for depth. They are mulling over Lewis Ferguson and Davide Frattesi. Instead, the current favorites to fill the void on the left wing are Igor Paixao and Noa Lang. It's not final until Conte announces it, but they must be pretty confident about his permanence since they are planning ahead. They'll have to make a host of signings to cope with the busier schedule. It looks like they'll go with relatively affordable but still solid players rather than making only two or three splashes.

Germany Star Lacks Composure Off The Bench In Inter Milan 2-1 Udinese Serie A Clash
Germany Star Lacks Composure Off The Bench In Inter Milan 2-1 Udinese Serie A Clash Germany Star Lacks Composure Off The Bench In Inter Milan 2-1 Udinese Serie A Clash Defender Yann Bisseck has received criticism for showing a lack of composure as a substitute in Inter Milan's Serie A clash with Udinese. Today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, argue that the German looked out of sorts in his penalty area in the second half. Advertisement Defender Yann Bisseck came on as a substitute for Inter Milan in the second half of yesterday's match against Udinese. The German replaced Federico Dimarco. This meant that Carlos Augusto moved to left-wingback, and Bisseck replaced him in the back three. The change seemed to signal that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi wanted to add more height and physicality to the backline. (Photo by) In truth, Yann Bisseck did not really add much defensively for Inter. The 24-year-old may be a more natural centre-back than Carlos Augusto. However, he was not really able to use his height to his advantage. Advertisement This was particularly the case on a headed chance for Udinese striker Lorenzo Lucca. Bisseck did not spot the darting run of the towering Friulani centre-forward. This left Lucca in acres of space to try and head the ball towards the Inter goal. A spectacular Yann Sommer save kept the ball out of the net. But had Sommer not kept it out, it would have been a very disappointing moment for Bisseck.

Referee Chiffi Completely Loses Control Of Inter Milan 2-1 Udinese Serie A Clash
Referee Chiffi Completely Loses Control Of Inter Milan 2-1 Udinese Serie A Clash Referee Daniele Chiffi has come under fire for his handling of yesterday's Serie A clash between Inter Milan and Udinese. Today's print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews, argue that the referee's leniency led to the match getting out of control. Advertisement Referee Daniele Chiffi evidently wanted to let the players get physical yesterday. However, in the second half that started to really become a problem. The tempo of the match raised significantly in the closing stages. Once Udinese found a goal, they really pushed for the equalizer. And the players' emotionally naturally began to run very high. Chiffi Criticized For Losing Control Of Inter Milan Vs Udinese Clash LECCE, ITALY – MARCH 10: The referee Daniele Chiffi looks on during the Serie A TIM match between US Lecce and Hellas Verona FC – Serie A TIM at Stadio Via del Mare on March 10, 2024 in Lecce, Italy. (Photo by) Referee Daniele Chiffi failed to book Udinese midfielder Martin Payero for a late tackle on Nicolo Barella that was worthy of a yellow, in the view of the Corriere. Then, the official did not even caution Henrikh Mkhitaryan for a reckless overhead kick that made contact with the head of Friulani Thomas Kristensen. Advertisement These incidents only upped the ante in terms of the precedent for physicality. Late in the match, Inter midfielder Kristjan Asllani dragged down Udinese midfielder Simone Pafundi. However, Chiffi waved play on, signalling the advantage to Udinese. It was not entirely clear that he would even book Asllani for what seemed like a fairly blatant yellow card offense. Then, at the end of that sequence, Inter forward Joaquin Correa went down after tussling for the ball with Udinese defender Jaka Bijol. Correa felt that Bijol was jumping on his back. But that's not how Chiffi saw it. In the end, Chiffi did finally give Asllani his yellow card. And the sequence ended in a corner for Udinese. Advertisement Finally, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi was the one to lose his temper. The Nerazzurri coach received a straight red card for his vehement protestations. But in truth, the Corriere argue, Chiffi had lost control long before then.

Inter Milan ‘Playing With Ten Men' After Ex Lazio Forward Comes On Vs Udinese In Serie A
Inter Milan 'Playing With Ten Men' After Ex Lazio Forward Comes On Vs Udinese In Serie A Inter Milan 'Playing With Ten Men' After Ex Lazio Forward Comes On Vs Udinese In Serie A Inter Milan were virtually 'playing with ten men' after the introduction of Joaquin Correa against Udinese yesterday. This is the view in today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. Advertisement Joaquin Correa had been expected to start for Inter Milan in yesterday's match against Udinese. With captain Lautaro Martinez out with an injury, the former Lazio forward would have a chance to shine. However, Inter coach Simone Inzaghi then opted not to start Correa. The Nerazzurrui coach instead went with Marko Arnautovic in attack. And on the pitch, it was not terribly hard to see why. Arnautovic gave Inter exactly the qualities that they needed against a tough, physical Udinese team. The Austrian battled with centre-backs Jaka Bijol and Thomas Kristensen. Beyond his goal, he kept Inter up the pitch. (Photo by) It was a different story after Correa came on to replace Arnautovic, however. Advertisement The Argentine lacked much of a presence in the physical battle with the Udinese defenders. This gave up possession too many times. And it allowed the Friulani to push up more and more, as they searched for an equalizer. Inter's defense therefore came under a lot of pressure. And Correa offered the team little in the way of an outlet from the onslaught that Udinese mounted. Then, it was Correa who allowed Oumar Solet to breeze past him to score the goal that really sparked the late Udinese attack. The other ten Nerazzurri players struggled to resist the late Udinese attacks. And it was as though Correa wasn't there to help them.

Substitutes Not Up To Par In Disastrous Second Half For Inter Milan Vs Udinese
Substitutes Not Up To Par In Disastrous Second Half For Inter Milan Vs Udinese Substitutes Not Up To Par In Disastrous Second Half For Inter Milan Vs Udinese The Inter Milan substitutes were not up to part in yesterday's nervy Serie A victory over Udinese after the international break. This is the view in today's print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. Advertisement Inter Milan's starting eleven could hardly be faulted for much yesterday against Udinese. In the first half of the match, the Nerazzurri were dominant. The 2-0 scoreline at the interval if anything undersold the performance that they put in. However, after the break it was a very different story. Inter started to look complacent as they protected their advantage with Udinese becoming more ambitious. And so Inter coach Simone Inzaghi decided to act. He turned to his bench. (Photo by) Inzaghi's intention may have been to breathe new life into his team with his substitutions. Advertisement That was certainly the case for Udinese. Some changes from Friulani coach Kosta Runjaic were an important part of the match taking a different tack. However, all the players who came on just seemed to make things work. In midfield, Nicolo Barella did not look his best, and hardly improved things from a strong Davide Frattesi display. Similarly, Kristjan Asllani could not replace the influence of Hakan Calhanoglu in midfield. In defense, Yann Bisseck lacked composure and destabilized the Inter back three at exactly the wrong time. And on the right flank, Nicola Zalewski offered very little.
