McDonaldland Shake , a berry-flavored treat topped with pink, cloud-like Dairy Whipped Topping made with real cream, inspired by the 'blue lava' and pink clouds of Mt. McDonaldland. Collectible souvenir: One of six limited-edition tins featuring postcards, stickers, and designs based on McDonaldland characters . The tins are randomized, encouraging fans to collect all six before the promotion ends. McDonald's is tapping Ronald McDonald, Grimace and the rest of its 'colorful cast of characters' for a trip down memory lane — in the form of a new meal. The McDonaldland Meal bag arrives Tuesday, Aug. 12, for a limited time at participating restaurants nationwide, the fast-food giant said. Inspired by its 'cherished' characters, the bundle includes a new Mt. McDonaldland shake and one of six collectible tins 'sure to unlock core memories,' according to McDonald's. The tins include stickers, postcards and more. It stopped just short of sharing the shake's 'surprise' flavor, inviting fans to take their best guess. Each meal bag also comes with customers' choice of a quarter pounder with cheese or 10-piece chicken McNuggets, and a side of French fries. Pricing information wasn't immediately available. McDonald's pointed to the popularity of its beloved characters — Ronald McDonald, Grimace, Birdie, the Hamburglar, Mayor McCheese and the Fry Friends — and their home in McDonaldland, a fantasy land first introduced in 1971. 'And so, for the first time in decades we are taking fans on a trip ... with an immersive experience that taps into the past to create the future,' Jennifer 'JJ' Healan, vice president of marketing for McDonald's USA, said in the release. 'It's a chance for us to give fans a new, modern way to experience this magical world,' she said. It's the latest themed meal bag from the Golden Arches, offering a grown-up spin on its classic Happy Meal. In April, it launched a similar bag inspired by 'A Minecraft Movie' and McDonald's menu items, McClatchy News reported.
