Rennes look to offload 19 players
It will be a summer of great change at Stade Rennais, with the club looking to offload 19 players, according to a report from Foot Mercato. Rennes spent big last summer and during the January transfer window, however, few of their purchases paid dividends. Frédéric Massara, the club's sporting director, paid the price. After just one season in the post, he left earlier this month, replaced by Loïc Désire, who arrived from RC Strasbourg Alsace. Advertisement Dealing with a bloated squad, SRFC are looking to offload several elements, 19 to be precise. The club have given mandates to several agents in order to get as many players as possible off the books. Arnaud Kalimuendo, a reported target for Newcastle United, is expected to leave, whilst Adrien Truffert and Lorenz Assignon are also tipped for departures. Returning loanees such as Baptiste Santamaria, Albert Gronbaek, Leo Ostigard, etc. will not be conserved by Rennes, whilst Bournemouth-linked Kyogo Furuhashi is expected to also depart. Rennes interested in Auxerre's Gaëtan Perrin
It is set to be a summer of great change at Stade Rennais. There has already been a change in the hierarchy with Loïc Désiré coming in to replace Frédéric Massara as the club's sporting director and there will be plenty of changes in the playing staff, too. Getting players off the books will be a priority for Rennes. The Breton club recruited substantially in the past two transfer windows, however, very few of those signings paid off. Offloading the majority of them is therefore on Désiré's to-do list. However, he will also be working on incomings. Advertisement One of the names on his list is AJ Auxerre's Gaëtan Perrin (28), according to a report from Ouest-France. The right-winger was exceptional for L'AJA last season, scoring 10 goals and registering 11 assists in 35 games in Ligue 1. Having impressed, it is expected that Perrin will leave Auxerre this summer. Rennes would be more than willing to welcome him. GFFN | Luke Entwistle
