Sky pay day deal cuts TV, Netflix and fibre broadband back to its 'lowest price' ever

Sky has brought back a popular deal from its Easter sale offering a TV, Netflix and broadband bundle for a record low price to rival Virgin Media and BT Sky has launched a flash pay day sale that's dropped a popular TV and broadband bundle back to its 'lowest price' ever. The provider has just brought back a popular deal from its Easter sale that offers the Essential TV and Full Fibre 300 broadband package for £35 per month and also includes 300Mbps fibre broadband for the cost of 150Mbps. Sky said 'our lowest ever price is back' as it unveiled the new round of deals, which have also seen the Ultimate TV and Full Fibre 300 broadband bundle – which includes more than 35 extra channels – reduced to £39. Sky's Full Fibre 300 usually comes in at £29 per month without any TV access, but the current deals also include more than 100 channels such as Sky Atlantic, Sky Sports News, and free-to-air channels like BBC, ITV and Channel 4. Both plans also come with free subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+, with the option to add Sky Cinema and Sky Sports to the package for an £10 and £20 respectively. All of this is accessible via Sky Stream, the brand's latest device that delivers TV and streaming services through WiFi instead of a traditional satellite dish. Sky has recently introduced the new One Touch Switch scheme, which means customers don't have to contact their existing broadband provider to make the switch. In a move to simplify customer transitions, Sky has taken on the responsibility of contacting customers' previous providers, reports the Mirror. It's important to note that Sky's TV and broadband packages are tied to 24-month plans, with the company indicating that its prices 'may change' during the minimum term. This year, Sky's TV and broadband prices went up by 6.2%, hinting at the possibility of a comparable hike next April. Notably, Sky is among the few providers offering subscribers the option to exit their contracts early if a price hike is announced. Sky's TV and broadband deals offer stuff competition for Virgin Media's Bigger Combo bundle, which delivers more than 200 TV channels and 362Mbps fibre broadband for £34.99 a month, but lacks access to Sky Atlantic, Netflix and Discovery+. Sky also beats BT and EE's comparable Big Entertainment and Full Fibre 300 plan, which is on offer at £48.99 per month for six months. Even with this discount, the plan is more than £600 more expensive over the 24-month term once the price reverts to the usual £63.99 rate. Sky members have been singing praises for the brand on Trustpilot, where one five-star review says: "Sky Stream is a game changer. Switched a few weeks back and it's the best decision I've ever made. Installation takes care of itself, the remote even auto tunes itself to the TV. The best part is though the ability to have a single charge for all your streaming subscriptions." This customer left a mixed review, saying: "I wasn't happy with the service provided by Sky, phoned up to change my deal and was passed around like a parcel. Eventually I got to speak to someone who knew what they were doing. I am happy my issue was finally resolved but took a lot of work." But another happy customer said: "I've been with lots of companies to get my TV and internet but the best service I have received out of them all is Sky. We did change to other companies because of the price but always go back to Sky."

Sky's 'lowest price' TV and broadband package returns

The package deal includes access to Sky Broadband, Sky Stream, Netflix and more Households on the hunt for a new broadband deal to boost their home entertainment experience are in luck, as Sky has reintroduced its 'lowest price' offer on one of its most sought-after packages. The Essential TV and Full Fibre 150 Broadband combo offers access to Sky Broadband and a range of telly channels and apps, including Sky Stream, Sky Atlantic, Netflix and Discovery+. The Sky package is priced at £35 per month with no upfront costs and is available to new customers. However, it's worth bearing in mind that Sky has stated prices may fluctuate during the 24-month contract. When purchased separately, the Sky Essentials TV package costs £15 per month, while the Full Fibre 150 Broadband is priced at £28 a month. This means combo shoppers can save £8 a month - a total saving of £192 compared to purchasing the two individually. Sky's Full Fibre 150 Broadband, ideal for HD streaming, online gaming and video calling, boasts an average speed of 150 Mb/s. Touted as 'the future of broadband', Full Fibre is being rolled out across the UK, as reported by the Express. Unlike traditional broadband, Full Fibre is powered by a fibre cable direct to individual homes, promising a 'faster and more reliable connection'. The Essentials TV plan includes a standard Netflix account (ad-supported) which costs £5.99 and Discovery+ Basic that is normally £3.99. Totalling £9.98, the additional perks in the £35 monthly Essential TV and Full Fibre 150 Broadband package effectively come to £25.02. Sky isn't alone in offering Netflix as part of its TV bundles; EE also offers the streaming service in its broadband and TV package, albeit at a steeper cost. Customers with other providers aren't left out, as both Virgin Media and NOW TV provide access to some Sky channels through paid extras. Sky subscribers have voiced their opinions on Trustpilot, highlighting grievances, particularly about unexpected price hikes during a contract period. An unimpressed customer remarked: "How can Sky just increase my TV package by £6.50 per month when I'm in a contract. I wouldn't mind an inflation rise, but not when it's at this level." It's worth keeping in mind that Sky's Essential TV package doesn't offer the most value when it comes to TV streaming, with the Ultimate TV deal costing £22 a month providing access to over 35 extra channels when compared to the Essential TV option, but it doesn't include broadband. Households that don't require all of these channels and want Full Fibre Broadband can't go wrong with the Essential TV & Full Fibre 150 Broadband package.

Sky gives customers one extra week to avoid broadband price increase – exact plans that will be affected revealed

SKY is giving Brits an extra week to snap up discounted broadband deals before the prices rise again. The Sun can reveal that Sky customers can shop via the website to claim the deals even beyond the expiry date. Yesterday we told how Sky was planning to kill off a series of cheap full-fibre broadband plans in days. Three deals were due to go dark on May 28, meaning new customers would have to pay extra. Now The Sun has learned that the deals will still be available online-only for an extra week. That means you'll have until June 4 to access the offers via the official Sky website. THE REAL DEAL? Sky has been offering the discounts on its broadband packages for several weeks. One offer includes near-gigabit download speeds on a full-fibre connection for £42 a month. That gets you 900Mb/s – far above the national media broadband speed of 73.21Mb/s. Currently Sky's website is warning that the prices are due to go back up on Wednesday, May 28. Three of Sky's broadband packages are currently marked with its "digital exclusive" pricing badge. First on the list is Sky's Full Fibre 75, which gets you 75Mb/s for £25 a month. Sky warns that the usual price for this package is £36 a month (that's the price that kicks in after the 24-month minimum term). Sky insider reveals little-known voice tricks for your TV - including hack to NEVER lose the remote Second on the list is Full Fibre 500, which gives you 500Mb/s broadband speeds for £31 a month. But you'd be paying £46 a month under usual pricing according to Sky. And finally there's the Full Fibre Gigafast package, which offers 900Mb/s speeds for £42 a month. However, the standard price for this package is listed at £49 on the website. 3 These broadband deals have no upfront fees – but the catch is that only new customers can claim them. FIBRE FIRST The other thing to be mindful of is that these are full-fibre packages. That means you'll need to be able to get a full-fibre connection into your home. Sky says that "55% of UK homes" are able to claim these packages. WHAT IS THE SKY SPEED GUARANTEE? Here's the official word from Sky... "If the download speed to your hub drops below your guaranteed minimum download speed for three consecutive days or more, you will have the right to leave your Sky Broadband and Talk contracts without incurring early termination charges," Sky said. "You can also upgrade your broadband product without any upfront fees. "Sky fibre customers can also claim money back under this speed guarantee by calling Sky. "You must be within your minimum term and can claim once within it. "Money back will be one month's Sky Broadband subscription, minus any discounts or offers, credited to your Sky account. "This excludes Sky Talk and any Add-Ons like McAfee, Broadband Boost or WiFi Max." Picture Credit: Sky "Full fibre broadband, also known as FTTP (fibre to the premises) and FTTH (fibre to the home) delivers broadband directly into your home via the ultra-fast fibre optic cable," Sky explains. "No cabinet, no copper cables, no sharing internet with the neighbours. "It's ultra-reliable broadband for the busiest homes. Streaming, downloading, video calls, gaming. All at the same time." Full-fibre is different from traditional fibre, which is known as FTTC or fibre-to-the-cabinet. That's when broadband comes to a cabinet in your area through a fibre-optic cable. But the broadband is then delivered to your home over copper wiring, which struggles to provide full-fibre speeds. With a full-fibre connection, you're able to get much faster broadband speeds. Sky recently revealed some major changes to the TV guide. And the TV provider suffered a major outage just days ago, leaving viewers unable to watch telly.

EE £29.99 broadband deal includes £300 switch offer

The broadband wars are hotting up this summer This article contains affiliate links. EE has launched an unorthodox offer to tempt people to switch to a cheaper broadband contract Sign up to our daily newsletter Sign up Thank you for signing up! Did you know with a Digital Subscription to Edinburgh News, you can get unlimited access to the website including our premium content, as well as benefiting from fewer ads, loyalty rewards and much more. Learn More Sorry, there seem to be some issues. Please try again later. Submitting... EE is paying people up to £300 to switch to their new ultra fast broadband in an unprecedented deal. Broadband companies often charge hefty 'leaving fees' if you want to cancel your contract before the agreed timeframe. The broadband provider says it will pay people up to £300 to pay for contract leaving fees to allow people to leave their existing contracts and sign up with EE. It means people with existing contracts with Sky, BT and other broadband providers can move to EE without a big bill. EE says people who sign up will not need to cancel their existing contract because EE will do it for you when you sign up here. To tempt people to take the deal EE is offering ultrafast broadband for £29.99 in an introductory offer. The deal is for Full Fibre broadband with speeds of up to 1.6 gigabit per second and EE says 190 devices can be connected and used at the same time at the fastest speeds. EE broadband also comes with new parental controls that allows you to disconnect devices at certain times through the broadband app. EE uses BT's broadband infrastructure and it means if BT broadband is available in your area you will be able to sign up for the EE option. The EE deal is £1 a month cheaper than Sky's Full Fibre 500 broadband deal , which has dropped to £31 in an online exclusive offer available here and offers faster speeds than the entry-level EE option. The Sky deal could be a better option for those who want to bundle their broadband with a TV package deal. Sky has also dropped the price of its TV deals to just £15 for the cheapest option and it includes Netflix in the bundle. You can get that here. BT itself is selling Full Fibre 100 broadband for £29.99, matching the EE deal. You can sign up for that here.
