Pride of Britain: Call for nominations for Fundraiser of the Year for the ITV News Tyne Tees region

The search is back on to find the most fantastic fundraisers to represent the ITV News Tyne Tees region at this year's Pride of Britain Awards - and we need your help. If you know of someone who goes the extra mile for a special cause - it doesn't matter how big or how small - they could be our next Fundraiser of the Year. You can nominate individuals or groups and we will be sending one person - plus their guest - to London to represent our region, where they will be in with a chance of being named ITV Fundraiser of the Year. Previous regional winners include Sergio Petrucci, a Sunderland dad who has raised millions for cardiac equipment off the back of his daughter's own life-saving heart surgery. 'Everyone has a heart, it's just our job to try and save it' Widow braves skydive, hot coals and cut glass in name of Motor Neurone Disease The 2024 Tyne Tees winner set up a cardiac care charity in a bid to show his thanks to the medical professionals who operated on his daughter Luna in 2015. The Red Sky Foundation has since raised millions of pounds and provided hundreds of defibrillators in the community. ITV presenter Ben Shephard is a Pride of Britain Awards judge and has been sharing what the panel looks for from the regional fundraisers. "I think the things that are hugely important is finding someone who is absolutely invested in their community, that has gone above and beyond for the people around them, without doubt has put themselves in a position where they have created an extraordinary movement with the charity endeavour that they've done and really just because they have a huge passion for the people around them, the community they live in," he said, adding: "[Someone who has] done everything they can to try and change the lives of those people that they live alongside.' How to nominate You can nominate someone for the ITV News Tyne Tees Regional Fundraiser of the Year Award by clicking here. Select "ITV Fundraiser of the Year" in the award category and choose "Tyne Tees" as your region. You can nominate individuals or groups of people but only one person and their guest can represent the region at the Pride of Britain Awards in must be aged 18 or over and be available to be filmed and have their fundraising story told on ITV Regional you are under the age of 18 please get permission from a parent or guardian before you are now open and close at 11.59pm on Sunday 10 August. ITV News West Country is launching this year's search for a champion fundraiser to nominate in the Pride of Britain awards. Each year, ITV West Country selects a winner for our West area (Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Wiltshire and Dorset) and from our South-West area (Devon, Cornwall, Dorset and Somerset) for the ITV West Country Regional Fundraiser of the Year award. They get to represent the West Country at the awards in London - where they are in with a chance of winning the overall Fundraiser of the Year award. Now, it is time for you, the public to say thank you to people who work tirelessly to support charities and good causes. How to nominate a West Country hero for the Regional Fundraiser of the Year Award You can nominate someone for the ITV West Country Regional Fundraiser of the Year Award by clicking here. Simply select "ITV Fundraiser of the Year" in award category and choose "West Country" as your region. Nominations may be individuals or groups of 2 people or more - they also must be 18 or over - anyone under the age of 18 has to get permission from a parent or guardian before they are nominated.
