Jakobie Russell, one of the suspects, turned himself in to the U.S. Marshals and was booked into Tarrant County Jail on charges of capital murder. He could be facing the death penalty if he is convicted. The other suspect, Adonis Robinson, was arrested in Livingston, Texas. David Hernandez, the Forest Hill Police Chief, believes that Ronnie's music could have been the cause of his untimely death. 'Based on the music industry that he's a part of, it is all part of the investigation,' Hernandez recently stated. 'Everything that's being put out is being reviewed and analyzed by the Texas Rangers, so we don't have any specific motive at this time.' Ronnie's last release was 'Blank Check' in August 2024 and he had not put out an album since 2023's Literally. Lil Ronnie murder: 2nd suspect arrested in Forest Hill deadly double shooting
The Brief The manhunt continues for the second of two suspects accused of murdering two people at a car wash in Forest Hill. One of the suspects, 24-year-old Adonis Robinson, was arrested on Thursday in southeast Texas. Police are still searching for 21-year-old Jakobie Russell. Family members identified the victims as North Texas rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and his 5-year-old daughter, R'Mani. FOREST HILL, Texas - Both suspects wanted for the murders of North Texas rapper G$ Lil Ronnie and his 5-year-old daughter in Forest Hill have been captured. The backstory Police believe 21-year-old Jakobie Russell and 24-year-old Adonis Robinson, both of Fort Worth, are the gunmen from Monday's deadly shooting at Slappy's Car Wash in Forest Hill. The two men allegedly ambushed 30-year-old Ronnie Sibley and his daughter, R'mani Sibley, leaving behind dozens of shell casings. Images obtained by TMZ appear to show Sibley, also known as rapper G$ Lil Ronnie, being chased across the parking lot by two gunmen. The duo got away in a white, four-door Kia,. What we know Forest Hill police confirm Russell was taken into custody on Friday. Online jail records show him being held at the Tarrant County Jail on charges of capital murder and assault of a pregnant woman. What we know The Texas Rangers and Fort Worth police captured Robinson on Thursday in Livingston, Texas, which is about 75 miles northeast of Houston. "We assisted on the arrest efforts," the Fort Worth Police Department said. Forest Hill police said they also recovered the vehicle the suspects used during the murders but would not reveal where it was found. Investigators haven't said what led them to the Houston area where Robinson was found. The motive for the deadly shooting remains unclear. Police also have not said how the suspects knew Sibley but said "the music industry" is part of the investigation. Robinson has a violent criminal history and is a registered sex offender, according to court records obtained by FOX 4. He was arrested in 2019 and later convicted for the assault of a woman who was walking along a trail near Marine Creek Reservoir. What they're saying Family members told FOX 4 that Sibley was an aspiring rapper who went by the name Lil Ronnie or G$ Lil Ronnie. "He was a rapper. He didn't bother nobody. He didn't target nobody. He was a family man, and he was going around rapping, okay. Why would you target him?" said Stella Houston, the victim's aunt. He lived in Crowley but made a stop in Forest Hill on Monday to see his daughter. Family spokesperson Bishop Rodney McIntosh said the young girl had just been dropped off to meet her father at the car wash minutes before the deadly gunfire. "The mother wants everyone to know she is heartbroken, and she is grieving," he said. "On behalf of the mother, I would ask them to do the right thing and come forward." Sibley also leaves behind a 12-year-old daughter, who has now lost a father and a younger sister. G$ Lil Ronnie and his five-year-old daughter R'Mani were shot to death at a car wash in Forrest Hills -- a suburb near Fort Worth, TX Monday. The two were spending time together to celebrate her birthday when cops say the two suspects jumped out of their white Kia and fired multiple bullets into the car, killing R'Mani and wounding Ronnie. Police Identify Suspect In G$ Lil Ronnie And Daughter's Murder Case
The Texas community is still reeling from the murder of G$ Lil Ronnie and his five-year-old daughter at a local car wash. Though it may be a while before they attain any peace or closure, the local police have made a huge breakthrough in their investigation. The local police department initially issued a capital murder arrest warrant after conducting their preliminary investigation; however, they have now identified one suspect and issued an individual warrant for their arrest. The suspect remains unnamed, and they are still looking for the second suspect. Law enforcement believes that the Monday morning shooting (Mar. 3) at Sloppy's Car Wash in Forest Hill, Texas was a targeted attack. Ronnie and his daughter were pronounced dead at the scene of the crime. Police believe that the suspects fled from the car wash in a white four-door Kia after shooting the late rapper and his daughter. A witness told KTVT that they heard 20 to 30 gunshots. 'He was a rapper. He didn't bother nobody, he didn't target nobody,' G$ Lil Ronnie's aunt, Stella Houston, told WFAA. 'He was a family man, and he was going around rapping, okay. Why would you target him? […] Cleaning the car out, and somebody came through shooting and killed him and the baby. And a baby. His baby. A baby!' The story gets even sadder when learning, via Houston, that they had just celebrated Ronnie's daughter's fifth birthday over the weekend. His daughter's school held a Valentine's Day celebration, and he attended, not only to make the day special for her but for one of her friends whose parents could not be present.
