More info An Edinburgh mum has shared the full video of the hilarious moment her son's lunch was snatched out of his hand by a seagull. The unfortunate incident took place on Musselburgh High Street when Nikki Reynolds was picking up her son, Sonny, from karate practice. The family lives in Bonaly but travels to East Lothian for training most days. Nikki caught some hilarious footage on her car's dashboard camera when Sonny was about to get in the car. Nikki told EdinburghLive: "He had been helping at his local karate club so went to Subway for lunch after and I was just outside waiting for him. "I saw him coming and glanced in the mirror wondering why he looked so confused. When he got in the car with his empty wrapper I was so pleased we have good dash cams on the car. "He literally had the one bite and it was gone. "I asked him what he was doing when he got in the car and he just chucked the wrapper down and said 'seagull took my subway'. I just couldn't help but laugh. And to be honest even now watching the video, it just makes me laugh. That's me laughing in the video [on TikTok] too." The video shows Sonny carrying his sandwich when a tenacious seagull dive bombs and snatches the meal right out of his hands. He appears stunned by the turn of events and halts in his tracks. Adding insult to injury, a flock of three more seagulls converge on the scene of the crime to squabble over the scattered chips on the ground. The hilarious clip wracked up over 615,000 views on TikTok. Nikki claims the seagulls in Musselburgh are notorious for wreaking havoc on locals. She said: "They are so bad over that way, I daren't get out the car sometimes as there's so many. But with the comments on TikTok I'm not the only one to think that." Locals took to the comments on Nikki's TikTok post to express their delight at the video. Some also compared notes on the notorious Musselburgh seagulls. (Image: Supplied) One said: "Musselburgh has some of the most ruthless seagulls in the country. Funny watching them terrorise all the kids down seeing the ducks". Another warned: "Beware lad, Musselburgh seagulls take no prisoners and D. G. A. F." A third viewer shared: "Absolutely awesome. The look on his face is priceless" while another joked: "A planned attack, they know who's never been attacked." Some even shared stories of similar experiences at the hands of local seabirds. A resident posted: "Sane happened to me, finished work and thought I'd grab myself a Greggs pasty. "I was walking along eating it when I could hear swooshing behind me! I turned to be me with the biggest seagull looking me square in the eye. It then took the pasty while I ran away screaming".
