Long-term transfer target hints he's READY for Liverpool move

Frendrup a Serie A statistical marvel Following another stellar campaign for the Serie A side, Frendrup is once again considered a target. Last month JuveFC revealed that Liverpool were among many potential suitors for the Denmark international, who scored two goals for his club side in the Italian top flight last season. Advertisement 'Liverpool, Aston Villa, and Brentford from England are also keen on the midfielder. Liverpool is seeking to bolster their ahead of next season, with manager Arne Slot reportedly considering Frendrup's energetic and combative style as an ideal addition to his team.' And it's no wonder Frendrup has stood out to Slot and his staff. Across the Serie A season according to FOTMOB, he won 61 tackles - placing him in the 100th percentile among players in his position. He also finished in the 96th percentile for duels won (173), the 100th for interceptions (47), the 97th for recoveries (184) and the 100th for possessions won in the final third (20). Frendrup admits he's a Liverpool fan? In a recent interview the 24-year-old hinted at his ideal destination when discussing transfer links with other clubs. Advertisement In a potential sign of encouragement for Slot and sporting director Richard Hughes, the midfielder expressed a preference for Liverpool. "I am flattered by links with some big clubs,' he told GIVEMESPORT. "However, my only focus is on Genoa. I like to stay in the present. It's nice to see my name mentioned with Premier League or European teams, but I think it's important to keep my feet on the ground and stay in the present. "As a child, I grew up watching a lot of the Premier League, and Liverpool games in particular. I have always liked Steven Gerrard. He was the player I watched the most when I was younger. Generally, people in Denmark either follow Liverpool or Manchester United!" Brentford and West Ham are among the Premier League teams mooted as potential destinations in the same GIVEMESPORT report - while Fiorentina and AC Milan are also thought to be keen.

Liverpool ready to enter fresh contract talks to KEEP star at Anfield

Liverpool looking to extend Luis Diaz's contract According to a new report from GIVEMESPORT, Arne Slot's side are preparing to re-enter negotiations with the Colombian's representatives in order to keep the winger at Anfield long-term. Advertisement Contract negotiations had taken place earlier in the season but appeared to reach a stalemate, and at one point earlier in the campaign it looked as though Diaz was almost certain to move to Barcelona this summer. Issues around the player's wage demands may have been what halted negotiations previously, with the 28-year-old looking to significantly increase his current salary. Still on the same deal he signed when he joined from Porto in 2022, Diaz reportedly earns considerably less than his teammates who make up the rest of Liverpool's attack. Liverpool's change of heart Diaz started the season in sensational form, scoring five in five and asserting himself as one of the main goal threats in Slot's side, but his output slowed from that point. Advertisement Between 28 September and 12 February Diaz was involved in 18 Premier League games but only managed to score three and assist two in this time. This dry spell led to many accepting that Diaz's time in Merseyside was probably going to come to an end this summer, but he has managed to turn his form around in the closing weeks of the season. Eight goal involvements in his last 10 league matches appear to have been enough for the Anfield hierarchy to decide they want Diaz to remain a Red, not just for next season but for the foreseeable future.

Confirmed: Chelsea now have chance at $125m summer windfall that would help transfer budget

It has been confirmed that Chelsea now have a chance of earning a $125m windfall this summer in what could go towards new signings. The Blues are in the Club World Cup of course this summer and although it brings many inconveniences mainly not allowing players to have a proper break and a summer of rest, it also brings a lot of rewards, but mainly for the clubs and not the players. For the players, yes for sure, a chance to play in the World Cup of domestic football and a chance to win more medals and silverware for their career is going to be very appealing. But the timing of the competition just means even more risk of player burnout as they will get little time for recovery at the end of another long and gruelling season as it is. Chelsea though as a club, and every other club entering the competition, will have a chance to win some solid money, even if they don't win the whole thing. As confirmed by journalist Ben Jacobs today on GIVEMESPORT, FIFA have confirmed the winner of the Club World Cup will receive $125m, the biggest prize money for a club football tournament over a seven-game format. The likes of Chelsea, City, Real Madrid, Bayern and PSG are expected to receive a minimum participation fee of almost $40m [at Club World Cup], plus the win-by-win or round-by-round prize money. The exact range European clubs will earn is $12.81m-$38.19m. So a great chance to earn some money simply for just playing in a competition, and a big chance to win big money if the club manage to win the competition. It's a big ask, but it's certainly possible. And that money would certainly help the summer transfer budget.

Another summer transfer target emerges for Manchester City as they look to bolster their midfield

Manchester City began the rebuild of their squad during the January transfer window. The signings of Omar Marmoush, Nico Gonzàlez, Vitor Reis and Abdukodir Khusanov in the January transfer window show that City won't be taking any backward steps in replenishing their squad. It's a process that looks set to continue in the summer transfer window. There are a host of players that could leave Manchester City in the summer. One of the areas of City's squad that appears set to be rebuilt is their midfield. Players like Kevin De Bruyne, Mateo Kovacic, Bernardo Silva and Ilkay Gundogan are all getting on in years. For the majority of them, their best football is now behind them. They can all still be valuable contributors for Pep Guardiola's side but they aren't players you can now build the midfield around. Manchester City did sign Nico Gonzàlez from FC Porto on the final day of the January transfer window. The Spanish midfielder will likely have a key role to play in City's midfield in the future. But they will need to sign more midfielders to further strengthen that area of the pitch in the summer. A new report from Danny Rust and Dean Jones for GIVEMESPORT indicates that Atalanta midfielder Ederson is looming as a summer transfer target for Manchester City. The GIVEMESPORT report suggests that Newcastle midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is also a target for Manchester City. Furthermore, Rust and Jones add that if City consider a move for Guimaraes to be too expensive they'll shift their attention to Atalanta's midfield workhorse. It now does appear that Manchester City are looking to revamp their midfield. During their era of dominance, City's midfield has been dominated by Rodri, and he has been supported by players such as Bernardo Silva, Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogand and more recently Mateo Kovacic. But the game has begun to shift away from the type of midfield City have typically deployed. Teams now have players who are athletic, technically gifted and get around the pitch well. Based on City's links to Guimaraes and Ederson, they look set to follow that trend. If they could add a player like Ederson or Bruno Guimaraes it would give Manchester City's midfield a different look. A midfield trio for example of Rodri, Gonzàlez and Ederson or Bruno Guimaraes would allow City to play a more modern style of football. They are all technically gifted, but they can also all get around the pitch with their athleticism. We have seen this season that City have struggled against those types of opponents. Now it seems that Manchester City are targeting players who can add this attribute to their squad. Ederson and Bruno Guimaraes are looming as summer targets for Manchester City. Based on what City need in midfield and what the pair would add it's clear to see why they'd be targeting the pair of Brazilian midfielders. If they could sign either player it would immediately bolster City's midfield. That will be a story to monitor in the summer if City can sign either player.
