13MP: GLCs to bolster national development efforts, public-private partnerships to be scaled up
KUALA LUMPUR: National development efforts will be bolstered by projects spearheaded by government-linked companies (GLCs), including the implementation of the GLIC Empowerment and Reform Programme (GEAR-uP) which has been allocated RM120 billion.
Under the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP), public-private partnership (PPP) initiatives will also be scaled up, with private sector investments expected to contribute RM61 billion between 2026 and 2030.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said efforts to develop future-ready talent across all stages of education will be strengthened to cultivate a skilled, creative, and innovative workforce capable of driving economic transformation.
