Bajel Projects Ltd has disclosed that it received a show cause notice from the Office of the Joint Commissioner of State Tax, Danapur Circle-1, Bihar, imposing a tax, interest, and penalty of approximately ₹2.36 crore under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act, 2017.
According to the company's filing with stock exchanges on Monday, July 21, the notice was issued under Section 74A(1) r/w 74(5)(i) of the GST Act, citing a mismatch between the company's GSTR-3B and GSTR-7 returns.
The company clarified that it has already paid the applicable taxes to the government and believes it has a strong case to contest the notice. Bajel Projects stated it is currently preparing its reply to the GST authorities and emphasized that, at present, there is no financial impact on its operations or activities due to this matter.
The company assured stakeholders that it is complying with the applicable provisions of SEBI Listing Regulations and will continue to update exchanges as developments occur.
