Suriya offers prayers at Palani Murugan temple ahead of beginning work on director Venky Atluri's film
Chennai: Actor Suriya, along with director Venky Atluri and his team, on Thursday offered prayers at the world renowned Palani Murugan temple, ahead of the film's shooting which is to begin on June 9. Sources close to the unit of the film, which is being tentatively referred to as #Suriya46, said the team visited the Palani Murugan Temple to seek divine strength before taking their first major step. It may be recalled that director Venky Atluri's upcoming film with actor Suriya, officially got launched with a pooja ceremony on May 19 this year. The film officially went on floors with ace director Trivikram delivering the first clap. Malayalam actress Mamitha Baiju, who impressed with her performance in the Malayalam romantic drama 'Premalu', plays the female lead in the film which will have music by National Award winner G V Prakash. The unit initially had said that shooting for the film would begin by the end of May. However, the producers have now confirmed that shooting for the film, which is to hit screens during the summer of 2026, will begin on June 9. Sithara Entertainments, the production house producing the film, took to its timeline on X to share the news. It wrote, "Team #Suriya46 visited Palani Murugan Temple to seek divine strength. Before taking their FIRST MAJOR kickstarts June 9th. Exciting updates rolling out soon…" Apart from Suriya and Mamitha Baiju, the film will also feature Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon and Tamil actress Radhika Sarathkumar in pivotal roles. Cinematography for the film will be by Nimish Ravi and editing will be by National Award winner Navin Nooli. Music director and actor G V Prakash, who will be joining hands with Suriya as a music director after 'Soorarai Pottru', took to X to say that this film would be as special as 'Soorarai Pottru'. It may be recalled that G V Prakash, while penning his thoughts on working with Suriya in this film had said, "After #Sooraraipottru joining hands with Suriya sir. This album will be as special as SP. This one is for you sir @Suriya_offl have got a fantastic film and album on hands.... The songs have come out superb. With the hit production house and my best combo @SitharaEnts @vamsi84 sir . And my most successful director combo #Venkyatluri. @_mamithabaiju here is #Suriya46."

GV Prakash's next titled ‘Immortal'; Vijay Sethupathi unveils the poster
GV Prakash Kumar's upcoming film, directed by Mariappan Chinna, has officially been titled Immortal. The announcement was made on Friday with the release of two striking title posters, shared by actors Vijay Sethupathi and director Venkat Prabhu on their X timelines. 'A title that says it all,' wrote Sethupathi and Prabhu, revealing that the film is Production No. 2 from AK Film Factory. The film stars GV Prakash and Kayadu Lohar in lead roles and is produced by Arun Kumar Dhanasekaran. GV Prakash, who also shared the poster, described Immortal as a thriller. The posters have already stirred curiosity—one features GV Prakash with Kayadu Lohar's flowing tresses, while another shows the duo in a bathtub, wine goblets in hand, hinting at an edgy and intense narrative. Kayadu Lohar, who impressed audiences with her performance in the blockbuster Dragon, plays the female lead. GV Prakash and Kayadu Lohar to headline an untitled film
Actors GV Prakash and Kayadu Lohar are set to team up on screen for the first time for an untitled film by Mariyappan Chinna. The makers unveiled an announcement poster with the caption, "Every door hides a deeper story," hinting at a mystery/thriller film. The film's first look will be unveiled on May 9 at 5 PM. Music composer Sam CS is also a part of the project, with the rest of the cast and crew yet to be revealed. Making her debut with Mugilpete (2021) in Kannada, Kayadu Lohar was a part of every Southern language films such as Pathonpatham Noottandu (2022 - Malayalam), Alluri (2022 - Telugu). She has even done a Marathi film I Prem U in 2023. She made her Tamil debut this year with the successful Dragon, starring Pradeep Ranganathan in the lead, helmed by Ashwath Marimuthu. Apart from this untitled film, produced by Arun Kumar under his AK Film Factory, Kayadu also has Atharvaa starrer Idhayam Murali and Silambarasan's STR 49 in the pipeline. GV Prakash, on the other hand, completed 25 films in the Tamil industry as an actor with Kingston. His upcoming projects are Idimuzhakkam, by director Seenu Ramasamy, 13, by K Vivek, and Mu Maran's Blackmail.
