GWM TANK 500 DEBUTS AT MALAYSIA AUTOSHOW
SERDANG: Great Wall Motor (GWM) Malaysia marks a major milestone with the official launch of its all-terrain luxury hybrid flagship — the GWM TANK 500 — at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025. Expanding the popular Tank sport utility vehicle (SUV) lineup, the brand also unveils its full product range under the brand vision of 'All Scenarios. All Powertrains. All Users.' The highly anticipated GWM Tank 500 hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) has been met with resounding applause since its unveiling at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) during the autoshow, which runs until May 15. This launch builds upon GWM's recent showcase at Auto Shanghai 2025, where the brand outlined not only its vision for global innovation but also its deep understanding of local market needs. A testament to this is its display of vehicles at MAEPS, carefully curated to resonate with Malaysian drivers. These include the adventure-ready Tank 300, the intelligent and efficient Haval H6 HEV, the stylish ORA Good Cat, and the futuristic ORA 07, an EV equipped with cutting-edge smart features. GWM Tank 500 HEV Officially priced at RM328,800 on-the-road without insurance, the Tank 500 comes with a six-year unlimited mileage vehicle warranty, a lifetime warranty for the engine, transmission and hybrid system, and battery coverage for eight years or up to 200,000km. It is available in Crystal Gray, Hamilton White and Sun Black. For a limited time, early adopters of the GWM Tank 500 will receive five years of free service maintenance (inclusive of parts and labour), along with a limited-edition premium gift set for bookings made by May 18, 2025. Under the hood, the Tank 500 packs a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine that powers 20-inch alloy wheels fitted with 265/50 tyres. In addition, the vehicle features the special Tank Turn function, which locks the inside rear wheel, allowing for tighter turns and better maneuverability. Meanwhile, it also features an intelligent four-wheel-drive (4WD) system paired with an M-Lock differential, along with a Water Depth Detection system that enables it to wade through depths of up to 800mm. Adding to the list of kit are off-road cruise control, transparent chassis view and 11 driving modes (four on-road and seven off-road). While featuring striking LEDs for its headlights and rear light clusters, the GWM Tank 500 HEV also comes equipped with roof rails for added utility. Inside, the cabin offers comfort with powered front seats—eight-way adjustable for the driver with memory function and six-way adjustable for the passenger. The seats are upholstered in quilted Nappa leather, complemented by artificial wood veneer for a touch of luxury, while ventilation is accorded to the first two seating rows. This hybrid SUV is also packed with convenience features, including power-folding third-row seats, tri-zone climate controls with ioniser, a panoramic sunroof, a wireless charger and a side-opening tailgate with soft-close functionality. The driver benefits from a heads-up display along with a 12.3-inch full-colour digital screen, while a larger 14.6-inch infotainment touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto takes centre stage on the dashboard, powering a 12-speaker Infinity premium sound system. For added visibility, the infotainment system provides a 360-degree bird's eye view along with a transparent chassis view—especially useful for off-road adventures. Finally, to further bolster safety, the Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems include autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go capability, lane centring assist, curve speed reduction and a 'Wisdom Dodge' blind spot monitoring system. The suite also features rear cross-traffic alert with automatic braking. Visit Malaysia Autoshow 2025 to get up close with the GWM Tank 500 SUV and the brand's full lineup. Enjoy exciting interactive experiences and place your order for a chance to win a lucky draw with prizes worth up to RM100,000. The event runs until May 15 at MAEPS, Hall A, Booth A03.
