Meet The Moonbase By Genki, A New Kind Of Charging Hub With GaN Technology

Getting excited over a power strip is not something that happens too often unless it's something completely different. That's what the new Moonbase by GENKI is. It's an innovative 240W charging station based on GaN technology and has a futuristic design that makes the Moonbase a convenient way to power and charge technology. The Moonbase has four USB-C ports as well as three well-spaced AC outlets, enabling the Moonbase to power up to seven devices at once. The Moonbase is aimed at people who need to power a laptop, tablet, smartphone, gaming console or any other kind of gadget that needs super-fast charging. It also declutters workspaces with a dash of sci-fi elegance thrown in for good measure. GENKI, the company behind the new Moonbase, says that the days of unplugging one device to charge are a thing of the past with this new charging station. Moonbase has a 140W USB-C output that can charge a 16-inch M4 MacBook Pro to 50% in just 30 minutes. There are also three additional ports for charging phones, tablets and other gadgets. For heavier demands, GENKI has included a 100W port that can ensure gaming handhelds stay powered. Two 30W ports are there to handle lower power devices such as smartphones or iPhones. Designed for universal compatibility, the Moonbase can support a wide range of devices and standards, including USB-C PD and has backward compatibility for older gadgets. It can transform a workspace with its futuristic design, which is inspired by sci-fi lunar bases. The overall design can complement modern office setups in terms of performance and style. The Moonbase is available in two color options. Moonlight offers a bright and minimalist look that is best suited to blend in with light or neutral-themed spaces. Then there is Darkside, which is more of a bold and striking design that's best suited for darker and high-tech setups. The GENKI Moonbase has customizable LED Effects that shine through transparent AC outlets, which are available in U.S., E.U. and UK sockets. The color-changing LEDs are adjustable using a capacitive button on the side of the unit, allowing the color to match the environment, mood and style. If light shows aren't your thing, then it's possible to turn the lights off for a distraction-free experience. Next-Level Safety The Moonbase offers next-level safety and reliability thanks to a suite of safety features, including surge protection that shields devices against voltage spikes from lightning storms or power outages. There is also safety door protection to prevent accidental shocks, which makes it suitable for families with children. The safety features also include grounding protection for stable and safe power delivery. Overcurrent, over-voltage, short circuit, and temperature control protection are there to keep devices safe during heavy use. All the safety features are combined with the power of Gallium Nitride technology, which means the Moonbase runs at cooler temperatures and is more efficient and safer than traditional silicon-based chargers. Cables To Match Power No charging hub is complete without innovative cables. To go with the Moonbase, GENKI makes Moonlink and Moonlink+ cables that are designed for both speed and functionality. The Moonlink product supports up to 100W per cable, while Moonlink+ takes that higher to 140W. The Moonlink+ cables also show real-time power monitoring via LED displays, which display the live power output. When it comes to data transfer, the Moonlink+ supports data transfer up to 40Gbps. In addition, they also have glowing tips to make it easier when connecting in the dark. GENKI has pioneered the use of GaN technology and gaming solutions since 2018. It has attracted 100,000 backers worldwide so far with half a dozen successful crowdfunding campaigns. GENKI's says it likes to blend thoughtful design with innovation. The Moonbase is available now from the GENKI website in Black and White finishes. The price is $119.99 for the U.S. plug version, £100 for U.K. plugs and €114,95 for the E.U. version.

This 65W USB-C Charger with 4 Ports Is Nearly Free as Amazon Clears Shelves This Summer

If you're like most people juggling multiple devices, having a charger that can power up (almost) everything at once is a real lifesaver. Ugreen is known for making safe chargers, and it's one of the top three best-selling charger brands on Amazon. Right now, their 65W USB-C 4-port charger block is available at a record low price of $25, down from $43 (40% off). It's the kind of deal you'd find on Prime Day, but the sweetest thing is, you don't need to be a Prime member to access it. It's a charger that gives you four ports to charge your iPhone, MacBook, and tablet at the same time. See at Amazon This charger delivers with its 65-watt output which is strong enough to charge a MacBook Air to 51% in just 30 minutes. That's seriously fast for a charger this small. You have three USB-C and one USB-A port so you can charge several devices at once. This setup is best if you have the habit of charging a phone, laptop, tablet, or even a gaming console. The charger is compatible with all those devices simultaneously without sacrificing speed. Through GaN technology, the charger stays cool and safe to use during every use. Gallium Nitride, or GaN, is a next-generation semiconductor that enables chargers to operate at higher efficiency while emitting less heat. This means that the charger won't overheat or overload your devices, providing you with the additional protection you need while charging precious electronics. The second big benefit is just how small this charger is: It's about 2.6 by 1.6 by 1.5 inches and fits into a bag or navigates a desk without taking it over. Its collapsible plug also earns it a badge as a good travel buddy. You will not have to worry about lugging around a lot of chargers for other devices, so your tech routine becomes a lot easier. Given all this, paying $25 for a 4-port charger that fast charges a number of devices at the same time is a bargain. Make sure you don't miss this deal. See at Amazon

Tessan Pushes Charging Envelope With The Power Of 205 Watts

The new Tessan TS-WTA12 can deliver 205W of power and can be used in most power outlets around the ... More world with voltages ranging from 100 to 250V. Could it be the best traveling companion for business journeys? Last month, I brought you news of a universal travel adapter made with nomads in mind. The Tessan 140W adapter has retractable prongs to fit most power outlets around the world, plus it works with AC voltages ranging from 100 to 250W at 50/60Hz. Now Tessan has jumped the shark with its latest travel adapter in the form of a new charger with a massive 205W output which could easily power a couple of laptops and most of the other tech you want to take on your travels, such as a watch, smartphone, Bluetooth speaker or earbuds. GaN Technology The all-new Tessan 205W is only possible due to the advances in GaN technology. Whereas older power supplies were based on silicon technology, newer power supplies increasingly harness the power of Gallium Nitride. The result is smaller power adapters that run cooler, charge faster and are safer thanks to their advanced monitoring capabilities. The Tessan TS-WTA12 has three USB-C ports on its faceplate and an additional three USB-C ports and a ... More USB-A port on the underside. I remember when laptops first launched; the power supplies were often as large as a shoebox and ran hot. Now, thanks to the development of GaN technology, a power supply can be small enough to fit in a coat pocket and have enough outlets and muscle to power the most demanding laptops and gadgets. The Tessan 205W has seven power ports and features retractable prongs for sue with U.S., U.K., E.U. and Australasian power outlets. However, even with its GaN circuitry, the weight of the Tessan 205W travel adapter is probably at the limit of what a U.S. power outlet can cope with and not work loose. Fits Most Power Outlets It's still a chunky piece of kit but not too large considering it has seven ports. I haven't been able to try it out on U.S.-style power outlet but it should be fine unless you have very old and loose outlets. Why take multiple power chargers when traveling? Save space and take one that can handle everything, ... More such as the Tessan TS-WTA12. This travel adapter can plug into almost any AC power outlet and automatically adapts to voltages between 100 and 250W. There is a built-in fuse for safety and circuitry that monitors temperature and performance many times per minute. There's also an auto-cutout should anything go wrong, plus there's a spare fuse onboard should you need it. At the top of the Tessan 205W's faceplate are three USB-C ports offering a total power budget of 45W between them. The leftmost port is PD-compatible and would be suitable for charging a smartphone. The other two ports would be fine for charging or powering a tablet and a pair of wireless earbuds. At the base of the Tessan 205W, pointing to the ground when it's plugged in, are three USB-C ports and a single USB-A port. The four ports point downwards which means less strain being placed on the cables, unlike those that are plugged in horizontally. The Tessan TS-WTA12 has retractable prongs to fit the world's most popular power outlets. The Tessan ... More TS-WTA12 should work almost anywhere. The four main ports share a total maximum power budget of 160W which can be divided between the four ports, depending on the gadgets plugged into them. These are the ports you would probably use for charging a laptop and they can easily handle one with a big power draw like Apple's 16-inch MacBook. The overall build quality of the final prototype that I saw prior to launch felt solid and appeared to be well-made. The use of GaN technology means it runs cool and has extensive safety features that are constantly monitoring for problems like increased temperatures. The Tessan TS-WTA12 205W power charger is launching on Kickstarter from today and will be available from Amazon. If you move fast, you might be able to secure the TS-WTA12 for the early bird price of $89.
