'Gabbars of India': BJP on Revanth Reddy's Rafale 'shot down' claim
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy and BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra NEW DELHI: Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy 's remarks on Operation Sindoor triggered a political back-and-forth from the ruling party. Calling Telangana CM, Congress senior leader Rahul Gandhi, and Jairam Ramesh "Saboot gang," the Bharatiya Janata Party said that they have tried to lower the morale of the Indian Army. Reddy's questions on how many Rafale aircraft were shot down, which the Indian Air Force has not officially confirmed, has prompted strong reaction from BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra who said that those who are Babbar in Pakistan are Gabbar in India and the condition of Gabbar will be same as in the movie Sholay Jay and Veeru did with the antagonist. "Rahul Gandhi, Jairam Ramesh, Revanth Reddy are asking how many Rafales were shot down. 'Yeh jo Pakistan ke Babbar hain, woh Hindustan ke Gabbar hain' "These people who are 'Babbars' of Pakistan are the 'Gabbars' of India) Tell us, how many Rafales were shot down? These 'Babbars' of Pakistan are the 'Gabbars' of India. And remember, to the Gabbars of India — you will meet the same fate as Gabbar did at the hands of Jai and Veeru (from the movie Sholay ). Rahul Gandhi did not ask how many Pakistani airbases were destroyed, how many terrorists were killed; rather, he only asked how many Indian planes were shot down," he said during the presser. Reddy, speaking at a rally, raised questions about the recent escalation with Pakistan and the government's decision-making during the conflict and said, "The soldiers of this (Secunderabad ) Cantonment participated in the war. The war planes being manufactured in Telangana upheld respect for our country. Rafale aircraft brought by Narendra Modi were shot down by Pakistan. There is no discussion on how many Rafales were shot down. Narendra Modi should answer how many Rafale aircraft were shot down by Pakistan during the recent war. You give us the account." The BJP spokesperson Patra also raised the question on Jairam Ramesh's remarks and said that he compared terrorists and our MPs, who are part of India's delegations abroad, is the same breath. The BJP Telangana unit's official handle posted, "Chief Minister Revanth Reddy didn't just echo Pakistan's narrative on Rafale and Operation Sindoor - he went a step further, calling it 'Mana Pakistan' (Our Pakistan). BJP IT cell head Amit Malaviya also slammed Reddy for his remarks and said that the Congress sound more like Pakistan's PR team than India's opposition. He also said that their questions on military's success is almost like the questions Pakistan would love to ask. Whether by ignorance or design, the Congress playing right into enemy hands and they're doing a splendid job at it, Malaviya said in a post on X. It is honestly astonishing how out of depth these leaders are when it comes to matters of national security. If Pakistan had actually shot down a Rafale, there would be clear evidence — satellite imagery, wreckage, international confirmation — just like we have proof of the damage we inflicted on their airbases and terror camps. But instead of standing with our armed forces, Congress leaders seem to be sourcing their 'intel' from WhatsApp forwards, social media speculation, or worse — their imagination. They sound more like Pakistan's PR team than India's opposition. And while they question our military's success, not one of them has asked — how many Pakistani jets have we taken out, including those parked at their bases during operations? That silence is telling. It is almost like the questions Pakistan would love to ask are now being asked — conveniently — by the Congress party. Whether by ignorance or design, they're playing right into enemy hands. And they're doing a splendid job at it," he said. Union Minister and BJP senior leader G Kishan Reddy expressed strong disapproval of the Telangana Chief Minister's statements, highlighting what he described as Congress's consistent pattern of undermining military operations and national security initiatives. Not the first time Congress and its leaders are resorting to cheap and dirty politics, not the first time they have questioned and doubted the surgical strikes, not the first time they are demoralizing our armed forces, not the first time they are speaking the enemy language. Ever walked out of a movie thinking, 'What if it ended differently?' In Bollywood, that's not just wishful thinking. Several iconic films have alternate endings planned. From tragic sacrifices to unresolved romances, some filmmakers envisioned bold, unexpected finales. However, due to pressure from producers, audience expectations, or last-minute changes, these endings were rewritten. Let's take a look at 5 Bollywood films that came close to shocking you. Also, check out the surprising reasons for the shelving of their original climaxes. 1. Sholay (1975) The iconic film Sholay, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Hema Malini, was also shot with two different endings. The ending we were shown didn't show Gabbar being killed. Instead, the police arrive at the right time and catch Gabbar before Thakur kills him. However, the original ending had Thakur killing Gabbar with his feet. Yes, you heard that right! In an interview with Indian Express, Ramesh Sippy revealed the reason behind it and shared that the censor board had asked to change it. They weren't happy with Gabbar being killed with feet, but Thakur had no hands, so he couldn't shoot him as well. Though the director wasn't happy about it, he had to change. 2. PK (2014) PK, starring Aamir Khan, Anushka Sharma, and Sushant Singh Rajput, even had a different ending planned. The film's ending that we were shown was Aamir's character PK returning back to earth with another alien friend (played by Ranbir Kapoor) as part of a new research team. However, the original ending was Anushka and Sushant's characters, Jaggu and Sarfaraaz, doing the Battery Recharge Dance to remember PK. Even this could have been a better ending to the film, it seems. Well, if you are wondering about the reason behind the change of climax, we have an answer for you. There were two reasons that were shared behind the change. First is the audience's desire to see PK return to Earth during test screenings. However, Aamir had once stated that the original ending was changed after the release of Inception as he found similarities between them. 3. Baazigar (1993) Baazigar, starring Shah Rukh Khan, Kajol, and Shilpa Shetty, showed that towards the end, Ajay (played by SRK) dies. However, the original ending was something different. The directors, Abbas-Mustan, wanted the demise of Ajay, but Rakhee and other distributors thought it wouldn't be a good idea, and they also shot the ending where police entered and took Shah Rukh Khan. The director revealed to PTI that this ending wasn't chosen as it wasn't conveying the emotional state of the character properly. 4. Pink (2016) Starring Amitabh Bachchan, Kirti Kulhari, and Taapsee Pannu, Pink was also planned to have a different ending at first. We saw that the girls won the case in court after so much trouble. The court's verdict affirms Minal's story and the principle of 'no means no.' However, the film was first shot differently. In the end, the girls lost the case as they had no evidence and facts to prove it. Taapsee Pannu once opened up on the reason behind the change in an interview with Bollywood Life and shared that they wanted the ending to provide some valuable message to the audience and motivate them to be strong and courageous in their lives. 5. Delhi 6 (2009) Abhishek Bachchan played the role of Roshan Mehra in the film Delhi 6, while Sonam Kapoor played the role of Bittu Sharma. In the ending, we see Roshan survive a mob attack after he turns Kala Bandar to stop Bittu's escape with her lover. He then confesses his love for her. However, things take a drastic turn when a crowd mistakes him for the real Kala Bandar and beats him up. He endures, though gravely hurt, and comes back to life after meeting his grandfather in heaven. However, the film had a different ending, and it was more tragic. In the original ending, Roshan was to die after being beaten by the mob. This could have intrigued viewers more and might be quite compelling. The film with this ending was shown at the Venice International Film Festival and received praise. The ending was reportedly altered as Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra gave in to UTV's push for a happier ending than what was initially envisioned. Bollywood has always thrived on drama, but some of its most surprising twists were never shown on screen. These alternate endings, shaped by behind-the-scenes decisions, reveal a fascinating clash between storytelling ambition and commercial demands. Kasganj BJP worker, 4 others get bail in minor gang-rape case
Agra: A local BJP leader, Akhilesh Pratap Singh alias 'Gabbar', and four others accused of gangraping a minor girl was granted bail by a Pocso court. Pocso judge Pratibha Saxena, in a four-page order dated May 23, a copy of which became available on Saturday evening, imposed several conditions on the accused, including compliance with all legal procedures. He was also barred from leaving the country without court's permission, told to cooperate fully with the investigation and not attempt to influence witnesses. Judge Pratibha Saxena, in her order, remarked that the names of the five accused were not mentioned in the FIR, implying negligence by the police. The court highlighted that the FIR was registered two-and-a-half days after the incident. It also noted a statement by district coordinator of child helpline Saurabh (who goes by his first name), who said that "information about the incident was shared on April 11." Those granted bail, each on a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh, are Amit, Akhilesh Verma alias Akhilesh Pratap Singh alias Gabbar, Sonu Singh, Rinku Singh and Sher Singh. The crime happened on April 10, when a 16-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by several men in Kasganj district while she was returning home with her 20-year-old male friend after submitting an application for a ration card and had stopped for a break under a tree near a canal. Following the incident, an FIR was lodged at Kasganj Kotwali police station against 10 individuals, including two named suspects, under sections 70(2) (gangrape), 308(5) (extortion), 126(2) (wrongful restraint), 351(3) (criminal intimidation), and 303(2) (theft) of BNS, along with the Pocso Act. Fourteen people were subsequently arrested, with a chargesheet filed against them on April 23. TOI contacted Kasganj Police for an official response following bail being granted, but no reply was received. Akhilesh Pratap Singh alias 'Gabbar' is reported to be closely associated with two Kasganj MLAs and, according to sources, has been connected with the ruling party in Uttar Pradesh for the last 15 years, frequently seen with local BJP leaders.
