Beliawanis urged to be party's shield

Published on: Sat, Jul 26, 2025 Text Size: KOTA KINABALU: Gagasan Rakyat Beliawanis Chief Emmie Martin Idang has called on the party's women's youth wings to uphold discipline and loyalty as Sabah prepares for the 17th state election. She said the Beliawanis must act as a shield for party leadership under Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, not just as supporters, stressing that such leadership is built on experience and strong principles. She warned against internal and external efforts to destabilise the party, urging members to be strategic messengers of government policy and strengthen grassroots support. On calls for GRS to contest solo, she reminded members to respect leadership decisions made with wisdom, not emotion.
