Ex Oasis drummer shares texts he sent the brothers after being left out of tour

Former Oasis drummer, Zak Starkey, will not be joining the Gallaghers in their much-anticipated reunion tour this summer. Former Oasis member Zak Starkey has been left out of the Gallagher brothers' eagerly awaited reunion tour. Liam and Noel announced last year that they were putting their infamous family feud behind them and were getting the back back together after a 16-year break from the band. Scots fans are eagerly awaiting the duo's Edinburgh Murrayfield Stadium shows, which are taking place on August 8, 9 and 12. However, former drummer for the band Zak, who performed with Oasis between 2004 and 2009, won't be a part of the line-up. ‌ Zak appeared on BBC Breakfast this morning (May 27) to promote his new single with supergroup Mantra of the Cosmos, which also features Bez and Shaun Ryder from the Happy Mondays alongside former Oasis bassist Andy Bell, reported the Mirror. ‌ When asked what he thought about the upcoming reunion tour, he conceded he was 'gutted' about not being asked to take part in the shows. He said: 'I texted them and said 'why am I not in it?'. You know, if you get a new drummer, you get comfortable, don't you? You get comfortable with new musicians and I think that's what's happened and I'm alright with that.' He went on to say he would have jumped at the chance to join Oasis on tour had the offer come in, but praised the band and Liam, saying: 'God, yeah. Greatest rock and roll band of my generation. Greatest rock and roll singer of my generation.' Zak, who is the son of Beatles' legend Ringo Starr, spoke about how his group's new single, Domino Bones, was originally written by Noel Gallagher, who gave it to Mantra of the Cosmos after suggesting it suited them better. ‌ The drummer told host Ben Thompson he was taken aback by the offer from Noel, saying: 'I was blown away by it - I couldn't believe it. The greatest songwriter of my generation sending me a tune." Last week, fellow Mantra of the Cosmos member Andy Bell confirmed he would be joining Liam and Noel on their reunion tour. The bassist, who played with Oasis between 1999 and 2009, said he was 'really looking forward to it'. ‌ Eagle-eyed fans shared snaps of Noel and Andy at rehearsals for the reunion gigs last week. Despite some controversy over Ticketmaster's"dynamic pricing" strategy that saw ticket prices soar to double their value, those who managed to secure their spot are ecstatic, especially after a glimpse of the band arriving at the rehearsal studio. One excited fan posted: "F**k and I thought I was hyped before. It's genuinely fantastic to see them! "They've all aged pretty damn gracefully and I can't lie, the beard looks decent on Noel. Glad Bonehead looks so healthy as well. Lads, it's happening." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. Oasis fans in meltdown as Gallagher brothers announce 'extra ticket release'

Liam and Noel Gallagher will kick off their epic Oasis reunion tour in July after millions of fans were left devastated when they were unable to get their hands on the coveted concert tickets Oasis fans have gone into meltdown ahead of the long-awaited reunion tour as rumours of an extra ticket release have spread like wildfire. Back in August, Oasis brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher confirmed that they would be putting their feud to bed and would embark on a nationwide tour after a 16-year hiatus. At the time, Ticketmaster crashed due to the millions of fans scrambling to get their hands on the concert tickets. While some were lucky, millions were left without a chance to see the Manchester-born brothers perform live again after almost twenty years. ‌ However, there could still be some hope for avid Oasis fans as a number of music lovers have taken to X to confirm that they have received an email stating that a certain number of production tickets will be available to buy ahead of the tour in July. ‌ One X user posted a screenshot of the email contents and said: "Anyone get this email from Oasis today?". The email read: "A limited amount of production release tickets have been made available for Oasis' Live '25 UK dates in Cardiff, London, and Edinburgh. "You have been selected to receive a code for a limited ticket release taking place on May 20th at 8am BST." After the X user asked other Oasis fans if they had received the same email, another music fan said that they were finally able to buy tickets after being sent the all-important code. "I got one last Friday and bagged 2 x tickets for Wembley," they said. "OMG I got this email too but was worried it was a scam. I'm still going to try it though." Someone else added: "I'm hoping because I only tried for Manchester, that I am given code for a Manchester release. As I've not seen one for MCR yet." It comes after reports have claimed that bassist Andy Bell will join the Gallaghers for the Oasis reunion. Since Oasis' split in 2009, Bell has been impressing fans with his own band, Ride, and so it was unclear whether the 54-year-old star would be part of the Gallagher's sell-out return. ‌ However, the musician has told a reporter he is in and is now preparing for rehearsals with Noel and Liam. Bell, who joined Oasis in 2000 to replace bassist Paul McGuigan, said: "I'm in and I'm really looking forward to it. We'll see each other on tour. Or rather, you'll see me – I'll hardly be able to see you in the audience." Bell also wrote one song or more on each of Oasis' final three albums. Oasis' reunion tour starts on July 4 at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, which is Bell's home city. Sixteen gigs in the UK, as well as several abroad, follow, reaching the worldwide climax on November 23 in São Paulo, Brazil. Bell joins Gem Archer, Bonehead and drummer Joey Waronker who are also reuniting with the Gallaghers for the huge final tour. But this stint will be the final hoorah for the brothers, their co-manager Alec McKinlay told Music Week earlier this month. ‌ He said: 'This is the last time around, as Noel has made clear in the press. It is a chance for fans who haven't seen the band to see them, or at least for some of them to. But no, there's no plan for any new music." Bell's comments to Austrian newspaper Oe24 come as Oasis get ready to rehearse ahead of their opening gig in Cardiff. More than 74,000 people are set to cram into the Principality Stadium for the performance, the first since Oasis made what was thought to be their farewell at V Festival at Weston Park in Stafford on August 22, 2009. Fans have been trying to work out what the first song in nearly 16 years will be, and believe a recent Instagram post by the band offers a cryptic clue. The visual clue showed what looked like a setlist with five tracks listed – one notably swapped out for 'Songbird' from 2002, a crowd-pleaser among the Oasis faithful.

Andy Bell Confirms His Place in Reunited Oasis Lineup

As the questions surrounding Oasis' fast-approaching reunion tour continue to swirl, longtime bassist Andy Bell has confirmed his presence within the lineup. Bell's presence was confirmed in a recent conversation with Austrian outlet OE24, who spoke to Bell following a performance in the country by his band Ride. 'Yes, I'm in and I'm really looking forward to it,' Bell noted. 'We'll see each other on tour. Or rather, you'll see me, because I'll hardly be able to spot you in the audience!' At the time of their split in 2009, Oasis officially featured Gem Archer on guitar, with Bell taking on bass, guitar, and keyboards. A series of touring drummers had sat behind the kit since the 2004 departure of Alan 'Whitey' White, with Chris Sharrock holding the beat at their final shows. According to the March report, the forthcoming version of the band would see the Gallaghers joined by Archer and Bell, along with Oasis co-founder Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, and Joey Waronker, who has previously performed with R.E.M., Beck, Roger Waters, and more. 'NME tell me who your source pots are that keep giving you info about OASIS and I'll give you an exclusive interview about up n coming OASIS tour,' Liam Gallagher wrote in response to the report. 'You can have it all but how much do you want it.' Bell – who had performed in Oasis since 1999 and later joined Liam Gallagher, Archer and Sharrock as a member of Beady Eye – previously sparked speculation of a reunion from the group in April 2024 when he was asked by Virgin Radio U.K.'s Andy Goldstein whether the band could ever perform together again. 'I'm going to say a qualified yeah, I think they will at the end of the day,' Bell said. 'I don't think it looks likely right now, but I think life is long, isn't it?' Liam Gallagher responded to Bell's comments on social media, writing, 'Andy bell from ride the shoe gazing phenomenon should really not be getting people's hopes up it's not big and and it's not clever.' When pressed by a fan who claimed Bell was simply noting what Gallagher himself had claimed in the past, the vocalist claimed, 'I've never mentioned oasis reunion it's over we must all really move in for our own mental health.' To date, Oasis have lined up more than 40 dates for their Live '25 outing, which will hit stadiums in the U.K., North America, Asia, Australia and South America from July through November. So far, the only participants confirmed by the Gallaghers to appear are the brothers themselves — who have not shared a stage since August 2009. News of Bell's self-confirmation comes soon after Alec McKinlay, who heads the band's Ignition Management and Big Brother Recordings, Oasis' U.K. label, disputed claims from Liam Gallagher that the band had a new album in the works. 'This is very much the last time around, as Noel's made clear in the press,' McKinlay said in an interview with Music Week published Tuesday (May 13). 'It's a chance for fans who haven't seen the band to see them, or at least for some of them to. But no, there's no plan for any new music.' Publicans snaps up rare $15m ‘proceeds of crime' city penthouse

Popular publicans, who recently bought one of Sydney's most famous watering holes, have snapped up a luxurious penthouse nearby. The Wentworth Courier recognised Patrick Gallagher, who with wife Angela paid $20m for Jacksons on George in March, doing the bidding himself at the recent auction of 802/85 Harrington St, The Rocks, that sold for $15m under the hammer. Highland Double Bay's Daniel Baran, with auctioneer Clarence White, had seven registered bidders, with four active from $12m, in the fiercely fought battle for the four-bedroom, four-bathroom residence with a three-car garage occupying levels six and seven of The Harrington. MORE: Iconic Manly property set to sell And the Gallaghers got a good deal since the penthouse, which has iconic harbour views, last traded for $17.5m in 2018 — a $2.5m discount. The penthouse had been forfeited under the Proceeds of Crime Act after being seized under Operation Cabestro — a joint operation led by The Australian Border Force and Australian Federal Police — that was resolving an excise fraud matter regarding unlawful importation of alcohol. MORE: Aussie mogul buys $12.5m granny flat More than $122m in assets have been seized since December 2019, including luxury apartments, bank accounts and a yacht. No wonder the Gallaghers were keen on this penthouse — it's understood they plan to reside in the luxury pad that's so convenient to Jacksons on George. The couple had operated Jacksons previously, having the leasehold from 2013. Lendlease had the freehold and the Gallaghers were forced to give it up in 2018 as Lendlease demolished the site to build Sydney Place, which includes Salesforce Tower. The former pub is now an upmarket hospitality venue, and Patrick Gallagher told the AFR in March that it was an exciting venue to own and operate. 'I'll probably having lunch there more often than I'm doing things operationally, but my wife and my two boys are very hands on,' he said. The Gallaghers also own the Railway Hotel and Hunters Hill Hotel, among others. The penthouse has a range of appealing features, including floor-to-ceiling glass that fill home with light and sunshine. There are state-of-the-art finishes, vast living and entertainment zones, a terrace with incredible views and even a spa. The kitchen features Wolf gas appliances, a Sub-Zero fridge, wine fridge and butler's pantry. MORE:Jackie O in $13m neighbour war
