Gallatin PD: 'Children of all ages' at Easter party with alcohol, drugs before shooting

Gallatin police have arrested two men they say have gang ties after gunshots rang through a neighborhood on Easter Sunday, injuring two. Police say the shooting happened during an Easter egg hunt and party hosted by Henry Apple, 66, also known as Skully. Alcohol and drugs were present at the party, which was attended by adults and children of all ages, all of whom are long-standing Gallatin residents, a news release said. Officers were called to the shooting at Apple's home in the 100 block of South Maple Avenue at about 7:30 p.m. on April 20. Two people were found with gunshot wounds, and both were taken to local hospitals for treatment. Investigators identified Ladavious Antonio Henriontez Williams, 22, as a suspect in the shooting. Williams was found at 122 South Ford St. and arrested by the Gallatin Police Department and Sumner County Sheriff's Office. Emergency Management Agency personnel provided support during the search, the release noted. Police said Williams is a long-time Gallatin resident and confirmed gang member with a lengthy history of criminal activity. He faces several charges including attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault and reckless endangerment committed with a deadly weapon and was booked into the Sumner County Jail on $4.5 million bond. Apple was also arrested, booked in the Sumner County Jail and charged with simple possession of Schedule VI and possession of drug paraphernalia. Authorities said he has a long history of narcotics trafficking and gang involvement. The investigation is continuing. Police ask anyone with information to contact the Gallatin Police Department at (615) 452-1313. Gallatin man charged in Easter shooting that left family members injured

GALLATIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — What started as an Easter celebration in Gallatin reportedly ended in a hail of gunfire. The Gallatin Police Department was sent to the 100 block of South Maple Avenue at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 20. Bodycam video obtained by News 2 shows the chaotic scene when officers arrived to the area. K-9s were seen running toward a home, where officials found a 26-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. PREVIOUS | 2 injured, 2 arrested following shooting during Easter celebration in Gallatin, police say Police said a 45-year-old woman also sustained a gunshot wound to the arm, adding that the bullet went all the way through. 'So this was an Easter egg party, one like I've never been to or seen,' said Captain Lamar Ballard. 'It is amazing that nobody else, especially young children, we are blessed that nobody else was hurt.' The 26-year-old was rushed to a local hospital to be treated for critical injuries. He reportedly had multiple surgeries and is now in stable condition. Meanwhile, authorities worked to quickly locate the suspected shooter—identified as 22-year-old Ladavious Williams. According to investigators, Williams shot his cousin in the chest and his mother was shot in the arm during the altercation. Gallatin police said the party's host— identified as 66-year-old Henry Apple—was cited for his role in Sunday's incident. Apple reportedly has a long criminal history and was cited for simple possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. 'They are all related. The suspect shot his mother. The suspect shot his cousin and they are all related to the host of the residence, Henry Apple,' Ballard to News 2. 'And that individual has been known to Gallatin police for a long time.' After searching multiple crime scenes, investigators said they found bullet casings, a digital scale thrown in a tree, and toys and diapers bags under the tents where tables were set up for the Easter party. 'There's baby bouncers, strollers, and bags mixed in with bongs, drug paraphernalia and narcotics,' detailed Ballard. ⏩ Williams is being held in Sumner County Jail facing a number of charges, including attempted criminal homicide. The Department of Correction told News 2 that Apple was ordered to community corrections in August 2023 for cocaine possession. In addition, he was reportedly convicted of another drug charge in 2004. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
