GALLATIN, Tenn. (WKRN) — What started as an Easter celebration in Gallatin reportedly ended in a hail of gunfire.
The Gallatin Police Department was sent to the 100 block of South Maple Avenue at approximately 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 20.

Police said a 45-year-old woman also sustained a gunshot wound to the arm, adding that the bullet went all the way through.
'So this was an Easter egg party, one like I've never been to or seen,' said Captain Lamar Ballard. 'It is amazing that nobody else, especially young children, we are blessed that nobody else was hurt.'
The 26-year-old was rushed to a local hospital to be treated for critical injuries. He reportedly had multiple surgeries and is now in stable condition. Meanwhile, authorities worked to quickly locate the suspected shooter—identified as 22-year-old Ladavious Williams.
According to investigators, Williams shot his cousin in the chest and his mother was shot in the arm during the altercation.
Gallatin police said the party's host— identified as 66-year-old Henry Apple—was cited for his role in Sunday's incident. Apple reportedly has a long criminal history and was cited for simple possession and possession of drug paraphernalia.
'They are all related. The suspect shot his mother. The suspect shot his cousin and they are all related to the host of the residence, Henry Apple,' Ballard to News 2. 'And that individual has been known to Gallatin police for a long time.'
After searching multiple crime scenes, investigators said they found bullet casings, a digital scale thrown in a tree, and toys and diapers bags under the tents where tables were set up for the Easter party.
'There's baby bouncers, strollers, and bags mixed in with bongs, drug paraphernalia and narcotics,' detailed Ballard.
⏩
Williams is being held in Sumner County Jail facing a number of charges, including attempted criminal homicide.
The Department of Correction told News 2 that Apple was ordered to community corrections in August 2023 for cocaine possession. In addition, he was reportedly convicted of another drug charge in 2004.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. – A deadly crash Sunday left a Garland County Sheriff's Office deputy hospitalized and another man dead. Conditions were foggy before sunrise around 4:40 a.m. According to an Arkansas State Police crash report, 22-year-old Lane Murphy of Plumerville was heading north when he crossed the center line and struck 22-year-old Deputy Gavan Mason's patrol vehicle. Garland County deputy injured in fatal Sunday morning crash Mason's vehicle overturned after a collision, but Murphy went off the road and died at the scene. GCSO Public Information Officer Captain Joel Ware said Mason was rushed to CHI St. Vincent Hospital with internal injuries and a broken arm, which required surgery. 'Those affected by it, our hearts go out to him,' Ware said. 'For the damage to be as severe as it was pretty scary. Very fortunate that Deputy Mason is still here with us.' It is estimated that it will take 12 weeks before Deputy Mason can return to work. He was already on track to be moved out of the patrol car and into an investigator position. GCSO Chief Deputy Steven Elrod said Mason has that 'X factor.' 'He is a team player. He has great camaraderie. He is versatile in so many different areas. Wherever you need him, he's able to respond,' Elrod stated. Arkansas State Police trooper injured in Easter Sunday crash in Garland County Although Mason can't respond right now, the community and coworkers have to help the 22-year-old deputy with his medical and financial needs. Elrod said in the last year, the new stretch of Highway 5 where the crash happened has had 17 accidents. Garland County is collecting data to ask the Arkansas Department of Transportation what can be done to make the area safer. 'Deputy Mason certainly wasn't the first person to be injured out in that stretch. We want him to be the last if we can,' Elrod said.
