Injuries & suspensions update ahead of Gameweek 36: Dejan Kulusevski among absentees

DREAM TEAM brings you all the latest injury, suspension and availability news for Gameweek 36 in one convenient location. Unai Emery confirmed that Youri Tielemans and Marcus Rashford will not feature against Tottenham this evening. Aston Villa will also be without the suspended Jacob Ramsey. As for Spurs, Dejan Kulusevski has been ruled out for the remainder of the season having undergone knee surgery this week. In brighter news for the North Londoners, Son Heung-min is expected to get more minutes following his comeback last weekend and there's an outside chance Lucas Bergvall will recover in time to play some part in the Europa League final on Wednesday night. Ruben Amorim has hinted at a competitive starting XI at Stamford Bridge tonight despite his midweek final in Bilbao. Diogo Dalot was pictured in training this week but it's not clear whether the wing-back is ready for first-team action. Matthijs de Ligt, Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro are notable doubts. Brighton are boosted by the returns of Lewis Dunk and Joel Veltman from injury with Fabian Hurzeler also hopeful that Kaoru Mitoma will be able to feature against Liverpool on Monday night. Additionally, Joao Pedro is available again having served his three-game suspension in full. The newly-crowned champions only trained for the first time today having been given time off earlier in the week and so Arne Slot was not able to give any availability information in his pre-match press conference. Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson is suspended for the rest of the domestic campaign having seen red against Newcastle last weekend. 3 Pep Guardiola expects to have the same squad available for Saturday's FA Cup final. The decorated tactician gave another positive update regarding Rodri but stressed that he has to wait for the club doctor's permission before the Ballon d'Or winner is ready for action. Crystal Palace should be able to call upon the services of Adam Wharton at Wembley. Newcastle are expected to be without Kieran Trippier at Arsenal on Sunday while Joe Willock only has a "slight chance" of making the trip. More damaging is the doubt around Sven Botman, who has endured rotten luck with injuries for over a year now. Eddie Howe admitted he wasn't clear on the Dutch centre-back's status but told journalists than he didn't think it was a serious issue. 3 As for the Gunners, Mikel Arteta told reporters that Kai Havertz "looks in great shape" and so the German forward may play his first minutes since early February. Late decisions will also be made on Gabriel Martinelli, Declan Rice and Leandro Trossard while Mikel Merino is set to serve a one-game suspension. Taiwo Awoniyi was awoken from an induced coma earlier this week having suffered a serious abdominal injury against Leicester last time out. Thankfully, the Nottingham Forest forward is said to be improving having undergone surgery but Nuno Espirito Santo remains understandably concerned, such was the severity of the situation. Murillo may return for Forest's trip to West Ham on Sunday. Captaincy options for Gameweek 36: Dream Team bosses putting their faith in Erling Haaland

DREAM TEAM managers are putting their faith in Erling Haaland (£7.8m) ahead of Gameweek 36. Not only is Manchester City's No9 the second-most popular recruit this week, he's currently the most selected captain. Mohamed Salah (£6.8m) has been the most popular skipper almost every week since he established a healthy lead at the top of the rankings but many gaffers are reverting to Haaland because Pep Guardiola's side are one of just four teams with two fixtures to fulfil this Gameweek. There's the small matter of the FA Cup final against Crystal Palace this Saturday before a Premier League meeting with Bournemouth at the Etihad on Tuesday night. The Norwegian poacher returned from injury against Southampton last weekend and mustered just two points but his overall record of 30 goals and 352 points remains highly impressive. Rotation is the lingering spectre that haunts almost every Man City asset and Haaland may be particularly susceptible having just returned from a spell on the sidelines, with Omar Marmoush (£4.8m) a more than competent understudy. But it goes without saying that Haaland is capable of earning enough points to justify the captain's armband in just 15 minutes if everything clicks, such is his goalscoring pedigree. 4 There's no shortage of options for Dream Team bosses who want to take on Haaland in Gameweek 36. Bruno Fernandes (£7m) has been a near-permanent inclusion among the captaincy candidates in the second half of the campaign and with good reason. Manchester United's captain averages eight points-per-game having notched 19 goals and 19 assists in all competitions this term. Ruben Amorim has said that his team selection to face Chelsea this evening will not be overly disrupted by preparations for Wednesday night's Europa League final. If we are to take the Red Devils' boss on his word then Fernandes is surely in line to start against both the Blues and Spurs this coming Gameweek. 4 Elsewhere, Eberechi Eze (£5.1m) is a tempting option as someone who would provide a key point of difference. Crystal Palace's No10 is the most-popular transfer target ahead of today's 6pm deadline but not currently among the most selected captains. Eze excelled in Gameweek 35 with an 18-point haul at Tottenham's expense and is therefore well placed to provide healthy returns again with Man City and Wolves in his sights. However, it's hard to predict Palace's starting line-up on Tuesday night as they don't have much to play for in the league. If the Eagles triumph at Wembley then Eze and friends may still be partying by the time they're due to host Vitor Pereira's side. 4 Lastly, we'll include Ollie Watkins (£4.4m) and Morgan Rogers (£4.3m) in the captaincy candidates. Aston Villa only have one fixture this coming Gameweek but it might be a profitable one. The Villains are due to host Spurs this evening and there's every chance Ange Postecoglou will name a weakened XI to prioritise the Europa League final. The North Londoners haven't got the tightest defence at the best of times - they've shipped 82 goals in all competitions this season! - and so Villa's most prominent attackers could thrive against a second-string outfit with other things on their mind.

Transfer recommendations ahead of Gameweek 36: Eberechi Eze to light up Wembley?

DREAM TEAM managers must confirm their transfers for Gameweek 36 before Friday's 6pm deadline - that's earlier than usual so take care. The FA Cup and Europa League finals mean that Crystal Palace, Manchester City, Tottenham and Manchester United United are the four teams set to pull double duty. 4 With fixtures at a premium at this late stage of the season, our latest transfer recommendations are focused on the upcoming double headers. Bruno Fernandes (£7m) Man United's captain is firmly in the category of 'blindingly obvious' as Dream Team's second-highest points scorer this season but we're leaving nothing to chance. An ownership of 34.7% makes him the fifth-most popular player in the game but it could be argued that he should be number one at this stage. Ruben Amorim has said that his team selection for Friday night's Premier League game at Stamford Bridge will not be overly disrupted by next Wednesday's Europa League final. This means Fernandes is likely to get significant minutes against both Chelsea and Spurs in the penultimate Gameweek of the campaign. The Portuguese midfielder averages eight point-per-game having scored 19 goals and provided 19 assists in 2024/25. 4 Eberechi Eze (£5.1m) An 18-point haul at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last weekend has put Crystal Palace's No10 firmly in the spotlight. The Eagles will start as underdogs at Wembley but Eze has the ability to hurt Man City - Pep Guardiola's men have shipped 69 goals in all competitions this season! The skilful midfielder is statistically Dream Team's most in-form player (last three games) at present, with team-mate Ismaila Sarr (£4m) joint-third in the same metric. Oliver Glasner's side are due to face Wolves at Selhurst Park on Tuesday night. Much of the same logic applies to Daniel Munoz (£5.1m) and Jean-Philippe Mateta (£4m). 4 Josko Gvardiol (£4.7m) Erling Haaland (£7.8m) is currently the second-most popular recruit ahead of Gameweek 36 but there's no need to waste anyone's data explaining why the 352-point striker might be worth a punt. Although many gaffers were left underwhelmed when he scraped just two points upon his return from injury against Southampton last weekend. Dream Team bosses keen on Man City assets should consider Gvardiol - the Croatian defender has notched 32 points across his last three outings. Guardiola's side can't afford to slack off in the league with the fight for Champions League qualification set to go down to the wire and so Gvardiol, important player that he is, may well start at home to Bournemouth in midweek as well as Saturday's cup final. No Dream Team defender has scored more goals than the 23-year-old this season. 4 Ollie Watkins (£4.4m) and/or Morgan Rogers (£4.3m) Away from the double headers, there might be some cheap points on offer at Villa Park on Friday night. Ange Postecoglou will rightly be prioritising his date with destiny in Bilbao and may therefore select a second-string XI to face Aston Villa. In contrast, the Villains will be highly motivated to put pressure on their rivals for Champions League qualification with a swaggering win. If that proves to be the case, the likes of Watkins and Rogers could feast.

Dream Team bosses rapidly ditching several elite performers as season nears conclusion

DREAM TEAM managers are ditching some of the game's most popular stars ahead of Gameweek 36. At the time of writing, Alexander Isak (£5.7m), Mohamed Salah (£6.8m) and Bukayo Saka (£6m) are the three most transferred-out players this week. 5 These are seismic transfers as all are among the most successful assets in the game. Salah is the outright best performer this season with a whopping 489 points to his name while Isak ranks fourth overall having amassed 336 points. Saka missed three months of the campaign with a hamstring injury but still ranks ninth among midfielders - only Bruno Fernandes (£7m) and Bryan Mbeumo (£4.6m) average more points-per-game in his position. Needless to say, no gaffer should replace players of this pedigree without good reason. 5 Neither Liverpool, Newcastle nor Arsenal are among the select group of teams with two fixtures to fulfil this coming Gameweek and so it's stands to reason that some Dream Team bosses are turning their backs on the aforementioned names in order to recruit the likes of Eberechi Eze (£5.1m), Erling Haaland (£7.8m), Fernandes and other assets in line to pull double duty. The Magpies are due to visit the Emirates this Sunday in what is undeniably a tricky match-up on paper, hence why their Swedish striker is losing popularity. However, it's worth remembering that Isak has already scored two goals against the Gunners this season, one in the league and another in the Carabao Cup. The fact Sunday's headline fixtures pits second against third is clearly a factor in Saka's declining ownership too but gaffers following this path may be guilty of short-sightedness. Arsenal's No7 may have a difficult fixture in Gameweek 36 but he's due to finish the season with a trip to Southampton in Gameweek 37. 5 Saints held Manchester City to a 0-0 draw last time out but the broader picture is a bleak one; Saints have mustered just 12 points to date having lost the most games and conceded the most goals. Most right-minded Dream Team bosses will fancy Saka to bank his fair share of points at St Mary's on the final day of the league campaign. It's perfectly feasible to ditch the England winger for Gameweek 36 and bring him back in for Gameweek 37 but such a ploy would mean using two of the very few transfers remaining to play hokey-cokey with a single player, limiting strategic options elsewhere. In short, it's probably worth sticking by Saka for the Newcastle game with a view to targeting the away day to Southampton, thereby saving precious transfers better used on other individuals. As for Salah, he may be easier to let go despite his hugely impressive record of 33 goals and 23 assists in 2024/25. Truth be told, the Egyptian superstar has slacked off in recent weeks. A goal at home to Spurs and an assist against West Ham are his only goal involvements since mid-March, over a period of nine games. With Liverpool's Premier League triumph confirmed, Salah and company are in party mode - the squad have flown to Dubai for some rest and relaxation ahead of Monday night's game against Brighton. The prolific 32-year-old obviously has the capacity to punish gaffers who ditch him but replacing him with a more motivated alternative with an additional fixture is a justifiable decision. 5 It will be interesting to see how the final two Gameweeks of the season play out now that a sizeable chunk of gaffers have decided to get rid of the game's most notable players. Removing Isak, Salah and Saka might work out but all three have the ability to make their doubters look very foolish.

Fantasy Premier League: time to buy Haaland as City face Saints in Gameweek 36

With only three games to go in Fantasy Premier League, we are at that stage of the season when club sides become unpredictable, making team selection and transfers an even bigger headache. Advertisement In most seasons, targeting players from teams facing Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur would be ridiculous, but with both clubs showing dismal form in the league, and having secured their spots in the Europa League final on Thursday night, I am advising you to do just that. This Gameweek 36 FPL article will be a handy guide for managers looking to take high-risk gambles to climb the rankings and win their mini-leagues. Gameweek 35 review The less said about my Gameweek 35 the better. A pathetic 38 points – made worse with 18 on the bench – dropped me 30,000 places down to around 164,000th in the world. Jamie Vardy scores against Southampton last Saturday. Photo: Action Images via Reuters But those who gambled on Kevin De Bruyne (£9.5m) and gave him the captain's armband were rewarded with a goal. More than 300,000 managers have gone for him this week, and with Southampton away, it is hard to call the move knee-jerk. And for those managers who wanted to roll back the years with Jamie Vardy (£5.3m), who is chasing 200 goals for Leicester, the striker bagged one against Southampton, taking his total to 199. No doubt he will be going all out for a goal against Nottingham Forest on Sunday. How to win your mini-league In this section I am going to outline three high-risk, high-reward tactics you can take this week that could seriously boost your FPL ranking.
