Peace and harmony meeting held in the view of festivals
Hubballi: Police commissioner N Shashi Kumar said that the Supreme Court's order regarding the use of DJs should be followed. No decision can be taken beyond the order. Speaking at a peace committee meeting with all religious heads in view of the Ganesha and Eid Milad festivals organised by the Hubballi-Dharwad police commissionerate at Sawai Gandharva Hall in Hubballi on Tuesday evening, he mentioned that a few miscreants can disrupt the festival celebrations.
"We have already deported such people. More rowdy sheeters will be deported in 3-4 days. Hindus and Muslims here celebrate festivals with each other without any discrimination. A separate friendly meeting will be held for the Ganeshotsava and Eid Milad festivals in Dharwad," he said, adding that a meeting will be held soon under DC to discuss some issues. Ganeshotsav Mahamandal president Mohan Limbikai, Muslim religious leader Tajuddin Peer Qadri, Sikh Guru Giani Surendra Singh, Christian priest Maxim D'Souza, and others were present.
