Samiti urges Andhra Pradesh government to ensure smooth Vinayaka Chaviti celebrations
The State government should ensure that all requisite arrangements for the Vinayaka Chaviti celebrations, beginning on August 27, are made in coordination with all concerned departments, said Andhra Pradesh State Ganesh Samiti honorary president and former MP Gokaraju Gangaraju.
Addressing a press conference in Vijayawada on Sunday, Mr. Gangaraju said the State-level Samiti had been formed with members from all districts. He noted that from August 27, pandals would come up across Andhra Pradesh — from remote villages to towns and cities — for the Ganapati Navaratrulu. He urged the government to issue all necessary permissions through a single-window system to avoid unnecessary hassles.
Samiti president Chalasani Anjanayelu stressed that arrangements such as sanitation, electricity, sound systems, route clearance, and cranes for the immersion processions should be made by the local administration in cooperation with departments including police, electricity, medical, and irrigation.
The Samiti members also said pandal organisers should not face restrictions on the height of Ganesh idols and no fees should be collected from them in the name of permissions.
