Why Charles Bassey did not play with the Boston Celtics in the last game of summer league
If you are wondering why unsigned big man Charles Bassey did not play with the Boston Celtics in their last game of the NBA's 2025 Las Vegas Summer League, we now know why. The Sin City Celtics found themselves without their best overall player in summer league action due to the free agent center having commitments elsewhere this summer. To get the lowdown on why Bassey did not suit up for the Summer Celtics in their penultimate tilt of the annual Nevada summer exhibition series (and their last of the Las Vegas Summer League regular season, if you can call it that), check out what the cohosts of the CLNS Media "Garden Report" podcast, Bobby Manning, Noa Dalzell and A. Sherrod Blakely, had to say in a recent pod with cohost of "The Big Three NBA" podcast, Gary Washburn. The four took some time to talk about Bassey's future, why it won't be with Boston in Vegas, and more. The Boston Celtics will have more playing time for younger players next season
The Boston Celtics have not had much in the way of playing time when it comes to their younger players given their status as contenders. But as Boston takes a step back to duck under the the NBA's dreaded second apron and all the team building barriers created by it in the collective bargaining agreement (CBA), there are fewer star players and veterans eating up the playing time. As a result of this unusual -- at least for the Celtics -- state of affairs, the team's incoming rookie class and younger players, who will get more of a chance to spread their wings and show what they can do when their number is called. The hosts of the CLNS Media "Garden Report" podcast, Bobby Manning and Noa Dalzell, broke down how the team's youth movement will have a lot more playing time in the season to come. Not everyone thinks it is a good idea for the Boston Celtics to sign Damian Lillard
Not everyone thinks it is a good idea for the Boston Celtics to sign vet guard Damian Lillard. Put aside the fact that the former Milwaukee Bucks star floor general will miss all of next season due to a torn Achilles tendon, and you still have some serious concerns regarding Lillard's fit. An undersized guard who has always had trouble on the defensive end of the court, his mobility might be even worse when he does get back on the court, and he is duplicative of what 2025 Sixth Man of the Year Payton Pritchard does for Boston already (and if we are being honest, better, as odd as that sounds to write). Add in the fact that the chemistry could be upset by expectations not meshing well, and there is plenty to dislike. Cohost of the CLNS Media "Garden Report" podcast, Bobby Manning, linked up with NBC Sports Boston broadcaster Drew Carter to talk it all over. Check it out below! What does it mean to the Boston Celtics now that they have traded Kristaps Porzingis?
What does it mean to the Boston Celtics now that they have traded Kristaps Porzingis to the Atlanta Hawks? The Celtics have made moves to get cheaper in recent days, with the trade of Porzingis to the Hawks one of multiple moves Boston has made or will likely make to reshape their roster in the face of what would have been a historically expensive roster and tax bill. But now the team is a bit thin in their frontcourt rotation, especially with vet bigs Al Horford and Luke Kornet still free agents who might leave the team this offseason. So where does the trade of the Latvian center leave the Celtics for the season ahead and beyond? Cohosts of the CLNS Media "Garden Report" podcast, Noa Dalzell and John Zannis, sat down to talk it all over when the news of the three-team deal broke. Check it out below!
