Alejandro Garnacho keen on surprise Premier League switch
With the Bryan Mbeumo deal now sealed, Manchester United's focus has now shifted to player sales. Marcus Rashford has already earned a loan move to Barcelona, while Jadon Sancho seems to be inching closer to Juventus. Both those deals will not net the Red Devils a huge amount, with Alejandro Garnacho earmarked as the biggest sale this window. Unlike his fellow forwards, the Argentine is keen to stay in the Premier League and he has already turned down a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia, where he was offered the chance to reunite with idol Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr. Napoli, Atletico Madrid were also linked with a move, but the United No.17 is hoping to stay in England with Chelsea long-term admirers. Garnacho wants PL stay But so far, the Blues have yet to submit a concrete proposal, while Tottenham Hotspur have also been linked with a move. Aston Villa are the latest entrants, with recent reports suggesting Unai Emery's side could offer a loan deal, something the 20-time English league champions are likely to reject. TBR Football have claimed the Argentina international has done his homework on Villa, and feels Emery can get the best out of him. The Spaniard has a proven track record with young stars, while he also got a tune out of Marcus Rashford last season, which even saw the Mancunian regain his spot in the England national team. 'Garnacho is keen to stay in the Premier League and, attracted by the prospect of working under Unai Emery, would be open to a move to Aston Villa, TBR Football can confirm. 'Alejandro Garnacho wants to stay in England, and there are only so many options. Chelsea, we know, like him, whilst Tottenham have maintained contact. Open to Villa move 'But Aston Villa have emerged as an option, I am told the player has done his homework on the possibility of working with Unai Emery, and he has heard good things. 'Emery knows how to get a tune out of these young talents – we have seen it with the likes of Morgan Rogers, indeed, could Garnacho replace the England man? It is not impossible. Alejandro Garnacho was even spotted wearing a Villa kit, not too long ago, and he could soon follow in Rashford's footsteps. However, a lot will depend on the kind of deal the Birmingham side end up offering. They are not in the best position, financially, but with United's eyes on Emiliano Martinez, a cash-plus player deal could be on the cards. 'Not my problem' - Man Utd star reacts to Alejandro Garnacho's exile
Amad Diallo gave a brutally honest answer when asked about the futures of his Manchester United teammates Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford. Garnacho and Rashford are among the five players Ruben Amorim has exiled from the first-team and told to leave the club. Fellow forwards Antony and Jadon Sancho and left-back Tyrell Malacia complete the 'bomb-squad', though United are struggling to find buyers for them. That was until Saturday, when it was reported that Barcelona were closing in on a deal to sign Rashford on loan with the option to buy, with the England international desperate to seal the move. The news broke during United's first pre-season friendly of the summer – a drab goalless draw with Leeds United in Stockholm – where Amad played the first 45 minutes. Speaking in the mixed zone after the match, the Ivory Coast star was asked about Rashford's impending departure but did not want to be pressed on the matter. Amad is especially close to Garnacho, with the duo at one stage tipped to be the future of the Red Devils' attack, but the latter will almost certainly leave Old Trafford this summer after falling out with Amorim. There is much interest in the winger from the likes of Chelsea, Aston Villa and Tottenham but with no offers as of yet, United may have to further slash his asking price. Asked about Garnacho's predicament, Amad showed little interest, saying: 'I think this is not really my problem. The only thing I'm thinking right now is how we will learn together as a team.' Man Utd can complete dream Ruben Amorim transfer in audacious Alejandro Garnacho swap deal
Manchester United are still looking to bolster their squad before the summer transfer window slams shut, but they also need to offload some deadwood, including Alejandro Garnacho Manchester United have plenty more still to do before the summer transfer window shuts in September. The Red Devils' main challenge this summer appears to be offloading players, with no departures from their squad as of yet. Marcus Rashford, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnacho are all deemed surplus to requirements at Old Trafford, but none are nearing an exit at present. Garnacho has been one of the United players training alone in pre-season after being told to find another club by head coach Ruben Amorim, having fallen out with the Portuguese multiple times over the past nine months. The 21-year-old Argentine posted a picture on social media of himself training alone in the gym recently, as well as another image last month of him wearing a Villa jersey with the name of fellow United exile Rashford on the back, which is unlikely to have done him any favours. Having been linked with Chelsea and Napoli already, Aston Villa are reportedly the latest club showing interest in United's Garnacho. The Red Devils previously slapped a £70million price tag on Garnacho, but securing that sum may prove difficult given the public fallout surrounding the winger's situation at United. Such a hefty fee is also a big ask for a player who has yet to fully realise his potential. His tally of 11 goals across all competitions last season hardly warrants a £70m valuation, although any fee would provide pure profit for the club under profit and sustainability rules. Now, the Manchester Evening News has provided a potential solution by suggesting a swap deal, which would see United target Ollie Watkins go the opposite way. The Reds are in dire need of a striker and Watkins' Premier League experience, a key factor for Ineos, makes him a great fit. Many United fans might scoff at the idea of signing 29-year-old Watkins, particularly with Arsenal closing in on Viktor Gyokeres and Liverpool potentially bringing in Hugo Ekitike. However, the Reds have no European football and are set for another transition season. He may not take United to their ultimate aim of a league title or Champions League win, but he's an ideal short-term solution given their current situation. If they can simultaneously offload one of their unneeded stars, United might seriously consider this deal. The real question is whether Watkins himself is keen on the move, but the interest shown by other top talents this summer in Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo suggests that the Reds still have some allure. And Watkins could very well be the next to join their ranks.
