‘I became the lead singer in the world's biggest Oasis tribute band after winning a karaoke competition down at my local pub'
For his day job, Irish dad-of-two Gavin Fleming (42) is a site engineer for electrical company Davenham Switchgear. However, his passion is performing as Liam Gallagher in Live Forever Since I was a young lad I have been obsessed with Oasis, and in particular Liam Gallagher. I remember my cousin coming back from a trip to the UK with a CD of Definitely Maybe and just listening to it in the family home over and over and being blown away. It was the lyrics, how catchy the songs were and hearing about their Irish backgrounds. It was everything they stood for: I remember watching MTV and thinking 'Who are these brash, arrogant, confident young men from a council estate in Manchester?' I loved the message they were sending out – where they came from, and what they are achieving. It was something you could aspire to.
