Texas A&M loses series over Missouri after Game 3 4-1 loss on Saturday
Texas A&M loses series over Missouri after Game 3 4-1 loss on Saturday Texas A&M's (27-22, 10-16 SEC) 2025 season is likely over after the Aggies dropped Game 2 4-1 against the worst team in the SEC, the Missouri Tigers, who, after winning Game 1 9-6 on Friday night, won their first series in College Station since 2006. This is embarrassing and could lead to the head coach Michael Earley's dismissal if A&M misses out on the postseason. Unlike Game 1, Texas A&M's offense couldn't muster a hit until late in the game, right after the weather delay that stalled playing for over an hour. The Tigers' offense showed up early, getting out to a 2-0 lead which lasted until the eighth inning they added two more insurance runs to keep the Aggies at bay. Like I said, until the bottom of the sixth when Gavin Kash hit a single up the middle, Missouri was close to accomplishing a no-hitter. Missouri's pitching staff has been one of the worst in the conference all season, but before the weather delay, starter Sam Horn, who is also a quarterback on the football team pitched a game, allowing zero hits and striking out five Aggies. On the day, Texas A&M's two hits, the other coming from Wyatt Henseler, was a microcosm of the program's immense struggles this weekend. One positive from the came of veteran pitcher Brad Rudis's post-delay performance, allowing three hits and striking out seven Tigers in 4.1 innings. For several players on the roster, this was the second to last game in Blue Bell Park, because, even if the Aggies somehow make the NCAA Tournament, they will not host a regional, and would be on the road the entire way. Heading into the final week of the regular season, coach Michael Earley's future with the program is now in jeopardy, and if the Aggies fail to win the series vs. Georgia, paired with a deep run in the SEC Tournament, he could easily be a one and done coach in College Station. Texas A&M will host Missouri in Game 3 on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. CT, which will stream on SEC Network+. Texas A&M and Texas head coaches comment on the ejection of Aggie first baseman Gavin Kash
Texas A&M and Texas head coaches comment on the ejection of Aggie first baseman Gavin Kash In a tense and already emotional game, sparks flew in the middle of the seventh inning when Texas A&M infielder Gavin Kash got into a verbal spat with Texas outfielder Will Gasparino before heading back to the dugout. There is some history between the two. Last season, Gasparino appeared to shove Kash, then playing for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, in the back after a ground at first base, causing both teams to clear the dugouts. Cooler heads prevailed, keeping the situation from escalating further. After a meeting with the officials, it was decided that Kash would be ejected from the game and suspended from Game 3. A&M head coach Michael Earley was visibly upset, and after the game, he and Longhorn head coach Jim Schlossnagle spoke about the incident. 'It wasn't instigated by Kash at all, 'It was instigated by their center fielder. Our coach heard it. Because of that ejection, I'm going to lose the guy that I'm going to start at first base tomorrow. That's a really tough thing in these games where the margins are so small. It's really unfortunate for him.' - Earley 'I didn't see it…I went to get a drink and I hear a bunch of barking which is normal, then I saw Kash yelling at the dugout. I don't know who instigated that. Certainly, he played here and then went to Tech and then A&M, so I don't know Gavin. I don't know what the history is, but it's unfortunate' - Schlossnagle Per Travis Brown of KBTX, NCAA Rule 15.6.c states, a player cannot leave his position 'to potentially participate in a verbal altercation or a physical confrontation (e.g., pushing, shoving, bumping) or a fight.' The positioning is determined by where the individuals involved were located when the incident began. Texas A&M will close out the series in Game 3 on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. CT. The game will air on ESPN2. Contact/Follow us @AggiesWire on X and like our page on Facebook to follow ongoing coverage of Texas A&M news, notes and opinions. Where to watch Texas A&M baseball vs Tennessee channel, time, streaming info
Where to watch Texas A&M baseball vs Tennessee channel, time, streaming info Texas A&M (14-14, 1-8 SEC) will face No. 1 Tennessee (27-2, 8-1 SEC) at Lindsey Nelson Stadium in Knoxville, Tenn. search of their second SEC starting on Friday night. Barring a miracle, the Aggies' post-season odds are incredibly slim, and just a single win in this series, along with two other hard-fought games, could give the team some much-needed momentum as they head into the second half of SEC play. Gavin Kash is out, possibly for the series, and will be replaced by Blake Binderup. Kash has been a major upgrade defensively at first base, limiting a majority of the unforced errors at the position. These teams have met 24 times, with the series tied at 12 apiece. The most memorable games were last season's three-game College World Series matchup where A&M took the first game before ultimately losing the last two.
