Israeli security cabinet approves plans to occupy all of Gaza
Israel's security cabinet has approved plans to occupy all of Gaza and stay there for an indeterminate period, breaking a longstanding taboo, even at increased risk to the remaining hostages held by Hamas.
Binyamin Netanyahu, the prime minister, put forward a new operational plan for the devastated strip, which was unanimously approved by the cabinet on Monday morning, according to officials. Over the weekend, Israel called up tens of thousands of reservist soldiers before its implementation.
