Farewell Tawaf marks smooth early departure of pilgrims

MINA: Pilgrims departing early performed the farewell Tawaf on Sunday amid a heavy flow of worshippers at the Grand Mosque, where movement remained smooth despite high numbers. The mosque operated at over 107,000 pilgrims per hour, supported by the General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque, which implemented this year's comprehensive Haj operational plan, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported. Authorities mobilised all available resources to facilitate the movement of early departure pilgrims, ensuring an orderly flow within the Grand Mosque. Support services included 400 electric carts, over 10,000 wheelchairs, and 210 smart gates to regulate entry and exit. These efforts reflect the Saudi leadership's commitment to providing the highest quality services to pilgrims, ensuring they perform their rituals in an atmosphere of security, comfort, and tranquillity.– BERNAMA

Over 17 million iftar meals served at Two Holy Mosques during 21 days of Ramadan

Saudi Gazette report MAKKAH — The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque announced that it had distributed 17,020,216 iftar meals among worshipers at the Two Holy Mosques during the first 21 days of Ramadan. This was in collaboration with various charitable organizations. Additionally, 17,190,000 packets of dates were distributed as part of the authority's efforts to serve visitors, including the continuous provision of Zamzam water. During this period, 27,105 cubic meters of Zamzam water were consumed, equivalent to about 150,614,000 cups or 721,774 bottles. The authority emphasized its commitment to maintaining the cleanliness of the Two Holy Mosques throughout the day to ensure a safe and healthy environment, removing 4,529 tons of waste during this period.

MAKKAH — The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque started implementing its operational plans featuring a diverse and integrated system of facilities and services to receive a huge influx of the faithful during the last ten days of Ramadan. The authority has intensified its operational efforts to ensure the readiness of prayer areas, including the availability of carpets, sanitation, cleaning, fumigation, and the provision of Zamzam water for worshippers. Additionally, the authority is extending environmental protection services, maintaining facilities and restrooms, preventing negative occurrences, and offering cart services. A well-equipped monitoring and reporting system is also in place to ensure visitor satisfaction. The initiatives reflect the authority's commitment to operational services, maintenance, crowd management, and social services within the mosque. The authority has significantly increased service capacity at the Grand Mosque in preparation for the last 10 days of Ramadan. Thousands of personnel and equipment have been deployed to ensure the highest quality services for worshippers within the mosque and its courtyards. The authority has stationed teams at 38 locations to answer inquiries and deployed specialized personnel to clean the mosque in just 35 minutes. Each day, 20 rounds of perfuming are carried out using over two kilograms of oud. It has prepared 428 escalators, 28 elevators, 1,300 electric speakers, and power sources of up to 90,000 tons to cool the Grand Mosque. It also offers free luggage storage and designated prayer areas for the elderly and people with disabilities to ensure maximum comfort. The authority has set up a 24/7 childcare center, carts to assist with rituals, special prayer areas for itikaf during the last 10 days of Ramadan, as well as a unified platform for reserving transportation, ensuring a seamless experience for all worshipers.

Worshippers visiting the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah must book their prayer slots in advance via the Nusuk application. The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has announced the official visiting hours for Al-Rawdah Al-Sharif during the last 10 days of Ramadan. According to the schedule, women can visit Al-Rawdah Al-Sharif within the Prophet's Mosque in Madinah from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM. Meanwhile, men's visiting hours are divided into multiple slots: from 11:20 AM to 8:00 PM, 11:00 PM to 12:00 AM, and 2:00 AM to 5:00 AM. To manage the influx of worshippers and ensure an organised experience, visitors are required to book their prayer slots in advance through the Nusuk application. The platform facilitates smooth entry and helps regulate access to the sacred site during the busiest nights of Ramadan.
