MAKKAH — The General Authority for the Care of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque started implementing its operational plans featuring a diverse and integrated system of facilities and services to receive a huge influx of the faithful during the last ten days of Ramadan.
The authority has intensified its operational efforts to ensure the readiness of prayer areas, including the availability of carpets, sanitation, cleaning, fumigation, and the provision of Zamzam water for worshippers. Additionally, the authority is extending environmental protection services, maintaining facilities and restrooms, preventing negative occurrences, and offering cart services. A well-equipped monitoring and reporting system is also in place to ensure visitor satisfaction.
The initiatives reflect the authority's commitment to operational services, maintenance, crowd management, and social services within the mosque.
The authority has significantly increased service capacity at the Grand Mosque in preparation for the last 10 days of Ramadan. Thousands of personnel and equipment have been deployed to ensure the highest quality services for worshippers within the mosque and its courtyards.
The authority has stationed teams at 38 locations to answer inquiries and deployed specialized personnel to clean the mosque in just 35 minutes. Each day, 20 rounds of perfuming are carried out using over two kilograms of oud.
It has prepared 428 escalators, 28 elevators, 1,300 electric speakers, and power sources of up to 90,000 tons to cool the Grand Mosque. It also offers free luggage storage and designated prayer areas for the elderly and people with disabilities to ensure maximum comfort.
The authority has set up a 24/7 childcare center, carts to assist with rituals, special prayer areas for itikaf during the last 10 days of Ramadan, as well as a unified platform for reserving transportation, ensuring a seamless experience for all worshipers.

Saudi Gazette report MAKKAH — The Saudi Arabia Railways (SAR) transported approximately 1.87 million passengers, including pilgrims and Hajj officials, with operating 2,154 trips during the Hajj 2025. The SAR operated Mashaer Metro Train between the stations of Mina, Muzdalifah, and Arafat during the period from Dhul Hijjah 7 until the end of the Days of Tashreeq (Dhul Hijjah 13). The operational plan for the Mashaer Metro Train during the Hajj season included five main phases. The first phase, from Dhu Al-Hijjah 7 to 8, transported over 27,000 passengers across all stations. The second phase carried 282,000 pilgrims from Mina to Arafat, followed by the third phase, which transported 294,000 pilgrims from Arafat to Muzdalifah. In the fourth phase, more than 349,000 pilgrims were transported from Muzdalifah to Mina. The final phase, which lasted until sunset on the last day of Tashreeq, recorded the movement of over 920,000 passengers to and from Mina 3 (Jamarat) station. CEO of SAR Dr. Bashar Al-Malik expressed appreciation for the support and empowerment of the Saudi leadership, which contributed to the integration of efforts and services offered to pilgrims, including transportation through the Mashaer Metro Train. He noted that the successful completion of the operational plan reflects the efforts of SAR employees and the effective coordination with operational and security agencies, supported by extensive preparatory work, including simulation exercises and full-scale trial runs, ensuring the highest levels of readiness and safety.

It is part of the ministry's efforts to improve the quality of services and enhance the pilgrims' experience within an integrated operational system overseen by several specialized centers. The ministry explained that these recorded numbers fall within the framework of a coordinated institutional effort that brings together government and service agencies, relying on the integration of human resources with modern technologies to ensure a safe and facilitated Hajj experience for pilgrims. In terms of oversight, the ministry's Compliance Center conducted more than 70,000 field inspection tours during the season, covering pilgrims' accommodations, camps, central kitchens, and operational facilities. The 'Nusuk Care' initiative also provided more than 845,000 direct services, including health, psychological, and language support, as well as responses to humanitarian cases through field teams operating around the clock. More than 3,000 volunteers participated during this season in serving the pilgrims, distributed across six diverse tracks. They were present at more than 107 contact points, supporting government efforts and contributing to the creation of an exceptional experience for the pilgrims. These field indicators reflect the extent of planning, precision, and investment in human resources and technology, in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. They consolidate the Kingdom's leading position in serving Islam and Muslims, facilitating the performance of the rituals with the highest levels of reassurance and organization.
