ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — The Village of Geneseo is taking applications for business and building areas looking for funding!
The village said it has secured funding through the New York State New York Forward Program, set up to assist business and building owners in the downtown Geneseo target area through a Small Project Fund.
Those who apply can request up to $100,000 in funding to cover 75% of project costs for projects including:
façade improvements
permanent signage
interior renovations
leasehold improvements
permanent machinery
equipment for businesses
Applicants can include individuals, for-profit entities, and not-for-profit entities that meet alleligibility requirements and are located within the New York Forward area.
The village said projects will be selected through a competitive process and will be scored based on criteria related to visual impact, economic impact, quality of life impact, and readiness. Priority will be given to projects that align with priorities and strategies in the Geneseo NYF Planning Process.
In-person as well as virtual information sessions will be hosted by the village in June to provide those interested with more information. Application materials can also be found here.
The deadline for applications is July 29 at 5 p.m.
