Updated 2025 Georgia football schedule after five kickoff, TV time announcements
Updated 2025 Georgia football schedule after five kickoff, TV time announcements The Georgia Bulldogs' 2025 college football season schedule is shaping up. The Bulldogs recently learned the kickoff times and television channel for five different games. All five of Georgia's scheduled games, which includes the first three weeks of the season, kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET. Georgia also officially learned that it will be playing Georgia Tech on Black Friday again. However, this time the game will be at 3:30 p.m. ET and will be in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Georgia does not have to play a Power Four opponent until Week 3 at Tennessee. The Bulldogs have an easier schedule in 2025 than they did in 2024, but Georgia still plays all of the same SEC opponents as they did last season (just in the opposite home versus road venue). Oregon's Dan Lanning ranked among college football's top head coaches ahead of 2025 season
Oregon's Dan Lanning ranked among college football's top head coaches ahead of 2025 season The hierarchy of head coaches in the college football world has seen a bit of a shift over the past couple of years, both both Nick Saban and Jim Harbaugh leaving. While Georgia Bulldogs' coach Kirby Smart is undoubtedly at the top of the rankings with a pair of national championships in the lat five years, the spots around him in the rankings are up for grabs. Going into last year, it was unclear who would be able to step up and claim the No. 2 spot behind Smart, but Ohio State's Ryan Day did a good job of solidifying his spot. But who rounds out the rest of the rankings? This past week, USA TODAY put out its official list of the top coaches in the sport, and Oregon Duck fans should be happy about where Dan Lanning stands. While he may not be quite up there with the Smarts and Days of the world because of his lack of postseason success through his first three years at Oregon, few coaches in the landscape are better at recruiting and teambuilding than Lanning thus far. Here's where he stands in the USAT rankings: While Oregon fans would likely take Lanning over several of the names in front of him, it's hard to argue against his place at No. 6 based on his postseason track record. The Ducks are 2-1 in bowl games under Lanning but 0-1 in the College Football Playoff, with a blowout loss to Ohio State in the Rose Bowl last year as the No. 1 seed in the nation. Oregon is strongly believed to be on the horizon for postseason success, though. The Ducks are ranked in the top 10 for the 2025 season and are projected to return to the CFP again. If Lanning and his team can keep stringing together impressive seasons and continue to compete for Big Ten and national championships, he should move up this list in no time. Reactions pour in the aftermath of Georgia football's spring game
Reactions pour in the aftermath of Georgia football's spring game The Georgia Bulldogs' annual spring football scrimmage was not televised, but that did not stop Georgia football fans, analysts and former players from weighing in on the spring game. Over 35,000 Georgia fans watched as the Red Team (first-string offense) defeated the Black Team (first-string defense) 34-17. The 2025 edition of Georgia football looked pretty good with redshirt junior quarterback Gunner Stockton making his first career first-team G-Day start. The toughest part of spring games is determining if something was a good play by the offense (or defense) or a missed assignment. "Some good and bad for both, but that's the way spring games go," said Georgia head coach Kirby Smart after the game. "We got to play some loose plays, throw the ball around, got to do some two-minute. Excited about the guys that got to play. We've got a lot of work to do in terms of offseason and getting ourselves where we need to be for next year, but a lot of the mid-years got valuable minutes. I can remember when mid-years kind of went with the threes and fours, and now it seems like more of them are going with the twos." Georgia does not return as much experienced depth this year. Georgia lost a significant amount of talent to the NFL draft and a few critical pieces to the transfer portal. What were Georgia football experts and former players saying after the spring game? Analyst names Georgia's standouts "Biggest standouts for me today, in no particular order: Chris Cole, Chauncey Bowens, Colbie Young, Joseph Jonah-Ajonye, Elijah Griffin, London Humphreys," said Rivals analyst Jed May. We put several of these players among are G-Day winners and losers list, but also added linebacker Justin Williams. You can't put too much weight into a spring game. It is just one scrimmage, but Georgia's linebacker room and wide receivers room certainly looked good. Statistical leaders from Georgia's spring game Former Georgia WR disagrees with fans Former Georgia great wide receiver Terrence Edwards is the head coach at Mount Vernon High School in Georgia. He has helped train a few wide receivers on the UGA team, but disagrees with a lot of the takes that fans have. "I enjoyed watching my Dawgs play yesterday, but Some of the things I heard from fans were ridiculous," said Edwards. "I'm convinced that 90% of fans do not understand football. If I hear someone say why are we running the ball up the up the middle one more time, I am going to explode." Georgia never has and never will use its full playbook during a spring game. Georgia's recent spring games tend to be very pass heavy. The 2025 game featured 88 pass plays and 44 rush plays (includes scrambles and sacks). Buck Belue talks UGA QB gunner Stockton Stockton completed 17 of 34 passes for 309 yards and threw two touchdowns and one interception. He completed several deep balls in the second half, which former Georgia quarterback Buck Belue also appreciated. Stockton looked comfortable in the Georgia offense, but the Dawgs still have some significant concerns in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Former Georgia QB evaluates Ryan Puglisi "(Ryan) Puglisi looked comfortable today," said former Georgia football national championship winning quarterback Buck Belue. "I left impressed with his skills. Polished passer. Effective out of the pocket. Poised. Positive first impression!" Puglisi completed 23 of 49 passes for 224 passing yards, two touchdowns and one interception in his first ever spring game appearance. He appears to be set as UGA's clear back up quarterback.

Georgia named as possible transfer destination for Indiana basketball's leading scorer
Georgia named as possible transfer destination for Indiana basketball's leading scorer After making their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2015 and securing 20 wins in a season, the Georgia Bulldogs' season ended in the Round of 64 against Gonzaga. Georgia basketball coach Mike White and his team are now shifting their focus to the challenges and opportunities of the 2025-26 season. Though still in the early stages, Georgia is emerging as a potential destination for Indiana Hoosiers transfer forward Malik Reneau. Indiana head coach Mike Woodson's resignation prompted several Hoosiers to enter the transfer portal including Reneau, who was Indiana's leading scorer last season. 247Sports' Travis Branham has identified the Georgia Bulldogs as a team to watch. "(Reneau) is one I do not anticipate returning back to Bloomington," Branham said. "The school I am looking at the closest right now is the Georgia Bulldogs. Mike White and his staff recruited Malik heavily out of high school back at Florida and actually got his commitment during the high school recruiting phase, but then obviously Mike White and his staff moved to Georgia, but Malik found his way back to Indiana. They have an extremely strong relationship with Malik and his family so right now that's where I am keeping an eye on." Georgia star forward Asa Newell is likely declaring for the 2025 NBA draft and UGA has several other players reaching their eligibility limits, so Georgia is actively rebuilding its roster. Mike White is adding three players from the 2025 recruiting class and seeking additional talent through the transfer portal. A key target is Indiana's Reneau, a junior forward who has started for the past two seasons, averaging 13.3 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting 55.2% from the field.
