Georgia May Foote's husband Kris Evans breaks his silence on split rumours as he checks into songwriting retreat during 'time of destruction'
The husband of Coronation Street star Georgia May Foote has flown to Spain amid rumours the couple have split. Musician Kris Evans fled the UK at the weekend to check into a songwriting retreat, leaving his estranged wife at their Manchester marital home. He took to social media to write a heart-rending note which read: 'In a time of destruction, write something.' Kris, 35, is at the La Sierra Casa Song Writing Camp near Alicante. Musicians are told: 'Our camps are the number one stop for all things songwriting, dive in head first, whether you're already established and looking for new inspiration / collaborations or you are new to the field and are looking for that boost of confidence to get you started, we have something for everyone. 'Learn from and work with our range of industry experts, from Scottish songwriter of the Year 2024 Kyle Falconer and our many world renowned guest artists, they are here to help you find your inner inspiration and inspire you to create the songs you have always wanted – remember you get out what you put in so be prepared to get to work. 'We have already played host to many successful names such as Carl Barat of The Libertines, Callum Beattie, Blaine of The Mystery Jets, John McClure of Reverend & The Makers, Koolkid & Ili, Stuart Zender of Jamiroquai, Youth, Ian Van Dahl. A real variety to cover all styles of music.' It was revealed earlier this month that the couple are headed for divorce just two years after tying the knot in an intimate ceremony. Georgia, 34, has removed her wedding ring and wiped all traces of the musician who she once called her 'best friend' from her Instagram page — including glossy snaps from their wedding. She and Kris wed at a log cabin-style venue. The actress had been engaged to Kris for two years before they married. He popped the question on New Year's Eve in 2021. Georgia, who played Katy Armstrong in ITV's Corrie from 2010 to 2015, shared her excitement in the lead up to their nuptials, writing online under a picture of her hen do. She said: 'I am about to marry my best friend. The person who makes me a better person. Here's to the last month of being a Foote.' Georgia and Kris have kept details of their romance under wraps since meeting in 2018, but the pair got engaged three years later and tied the knot in July 2023. However it looks like their relationship could be over, with the couple reportedly 'heading for a divorce' and Georgia 'looking to the future'. A source told The Sun last week: 'Georgia's marriage to Kris seems to be over. It's on the rocks.' Georgia is said to have removed her wedding ring and wiped all traces of the musician from her Instagram - including glossy snaps from their wedding day. Her wedding ring was noticeably absent in a recent Instagram post, where she enjoyed a spa break with her best friend. However, despite their rumoured split, the duo appear to still be on amicable terms as it's been reported they are still living together. A friend of the couple told The Sun: 'Georgia has been through a lot recently and it's not surprising that it has put strain on her marriage. 'She told friends that she wanted a fresh start after the terrible fire earlier this year and she's just not sure where Kris fits into that. They are still on good enough terms to stay in their home together.' Another source revealed that many of the couple's issues centred around their financial situation. Georgia, who is best known for playing Katy Armstrong in Corrie for five years from 2010, recently admitted that acting work has dried up over the last few years. After her character was brutally killed off in a car crash, the model went onto appear in reality TV shows such as Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Juice, while she had a regular role on American fantasy series The Outpost in the early 2020s. But speaking to Sausage on a Fork podcast this week, she confessed she's had a 'nightmare' trying to book jobs and said the last few years have been 'the quietest time' of her life. Georgia said: 'I came back in the December of 2020 and I just realised, "Oh my God, there's no work." 'Everything that got stopped filming in the UK then got put on a back burner, and then there was a backlog of what was about to start filming. Then everything behind that took four years to come out, then we had the writers' strikes.' Georgia continued: 'It's just been a nightmare. And that's why this has been the quietest I've ever been in my life. I think a lot of actors around the world will say the exact time.' In addition to her lack of screen work, Georgia was dealt another devastating blow last month when her nail salon burnt down, having started the business to earn extra income amid her struggle to bag acting jobs. Georgia was forced to start a crowdfunding page to raise cash to get her company, as well as other businesses affected, back up and running. She said of the blaze: 'Within two hours the whole building was alight, and the whole thing burnt down. We weren't allowed back in there and nothing has been salvaged. 'Four years' worth of products and stock and everything. We can't get back to work without that stuff. It's thousands of pounds of stuff. You can't just go and buy it. 'I did start a fundraiser to raise some money for these ladies to help us get back on our feet and build our stock back up again that we've lost. 'It's passed the £12,000 mark. I'm really happy. It makes me really emotional to speak about it. I just know it's a lot of women's only income. I'm lucky that I still do my voiceovers and I do have jobs coming in.

Corrie star reveals return to off-screen job after horror fire burned down their business
CORONATION Street actress Georgia May Foote has returned to her off-screen job just weeks after a horrific fire put a stop to her business. The glam actress was once living the high life as a prolific UK star following her portrayal of Katy Armstrong in the ITV soap opera. 6 6 She soon enjoyed a stint on Strictly and had a flurry of modelling jobs but soon found herself struggling financially and as such turned her back on fame for a regular job. Georgia found herself being a nail technician and ploughed what she left of her celebrity earnings into opening her own salon, GMF Nails. But she was left devastated when the salon caught fire and burned down earlier this year. It left her without work once again but she has now revealed that she is back up and running and is due to open a brand new salon very soon. She took to her salon's Instagram site to give her fans an update where she confirmed they could still book in for nail appointment ahead of announcing her next venture. Georgia said: "So sorry I have been so quiet! You guys have literally booked me right up so thank you! "Also the salon is coming along nicely! "I will be announcing the name and the page to follow today so keep your eyes peeled! "Work starts tomorrow to get it all going and I cannot wait!!" Georgia was left crushed when the salon, based in a Middleton storage unit, burned to the ground. The fire occurred at a difficult time for Georgia as she was navigating a shock split from her husband of two years and considering a divorce. Speaking about the fire earlier this year, the soap siren said: "Now as some of you may know I've been a nail technician now for the past 4 years alongside my acting. "Unfortunately my beautiful little studio was affected by a huge fire within the storage world unit in Middleton last night. "Not only has my business burnt down, but so has many other peoples. "Along with peoples most loved possessions. My heart goes out to them all." She continued: "Even though as beauticians we can move into a new space, our stock and tools, which we spend years collecting have all gone. We can no longer work. 6 6 "My friends and fellow beauticians have to literally start again. "With no way of even making the money to buy these tools. "Some of them have children. "I am asking if you could please help us all by just giving a little towards helping my friends rebuild their businesses. "We would be eternally grateful. "Fire is the most devastating thing. Thousands of pounds of stock has gone in seconds." Georgia launched a GoFundMe earlier this year to raise cash following the fire and her marriage split. It is not explicitly clear if this is the cash which has been used to fund Georgia's new salon. 6

Coronation Street star spiralled after string of 'bad choices' since soap exit
Former Coronation Street actress Georgia May Foote has had a recent run of bad fortune, including her beauty business, a nail salon, catching on fire Actress Georgia May Foote's time on the cobbles came to an end in 2015, with her Coronation Street character, Katy Armstrong, later being killed off in an off-screen incident two years later. It marked the end of five years in the long-running ITV soap. She has appeared on many talk shows and reality shows, including Celebrity Juice, Strictly Come Dancing, Saturday Kitchen, and more, since. She also appeared as Gracie Bradshaw for one episode of Doctors and was a series regular in the American fantasy-adventure series The Outpost between 2020 and 2021. However, it's thought "bad choices" over the years have led to her career spiralling. And she's had heartache away from work too, with it reported she has split for her husband. It's thought the 34-year-old star and hubby Kris Evans have gone their separate ways, with the actress wiping him from her social media. She also appears to have removed her wedding ring. Meanwhile, she has also recently been dealt professional heartache with her business burning down. Georgia shared her heartache in June this year as she revealed the sad news on her Instagram. She shared a video on her platform in which she revealed that other people's businesses have also been impacted by the fire. She said: "Now as some of you may know I've been a nail technician now for the past 4 years alongside my acting. Unfortunately my beautiful little studio was affected by a huge fire within the storage world unit in Middleton last night. "Not only has my business burnt down, but so has many other peoples. Along with peoples most loved possessions. My heart goes out to them all." Now, sources close to the star have asked: "How much bad luck can one person take?" One insider told The Sun regarding her career: "It's a shame because she's not untalented but she's just made some bad choices and that turns the industry away and it turns fans away." In a new chat with the Sausage on a Fork podcast, the actress confessed her work dried up after returning from Serbia from filming The Outpost. She said: "I came back in the December of 2020 and I just realised, 'Oh my God, there's no work.' "Everything that got stopped filming in the UK then got put on a back burner, and then there was a backlog of what was about to start filming. Then everything behind that took four years to come out, then we had the writers' strikes." She continued: "It's just been a nightmare. And that's why this has been the quietest I've ever been in my life. I think a lot of actors around the world will say the exact time." But it wasn't just her on-screen career that was an issue. Her beauty business, a nail salon, caught on fire. She had to start a crowdfunding page to get the company, as well as other businesses affected by the fire, up and running again. She explained how within a matter of hours. "We weren't allowed back in there and nothing has been salvaged," she said. "Four years' worth of products and stock and everything. We can't get back to work without that stuff. It's thousands of pounds of stuff. You can't just go and buy it."
