Martin Schutt/dpa Germany will bid for the 2031 Nordic skiing world championships instead of 2033, a top official of the governing body DSV has said. Preuss targets 'lots of time in bed' before next biathlon gold bid

Monday's rest day in the biathlon world championships comes in very handy for German star and amateur hairdresser Franziska Preuss. 'My programme for the day is little sport and a lot of time in bed to save as much energy as possible," the 30-year-old, who won gold in the pursuit in Lenzerheide, Switzerland on Sunday, told reporters. Her next medal chance comes on Tuesday in the 15 kilometre individual race, an event he has never won at senior level. "I'm glad that I have a day in between so that I can calm down again," added the overall World Cup leader, who has also taken silver in the world championship sprint and bronze in the mixed relay. She could compete four more times in Switzerland before the climax on Sunday. "The second week will be another long one. I'm not doing anything special," added Preuss. The German was also able to chill out by playing hairdresser on Sunday. The German Ski Association published a video showing her giving coaches Kristian Mehringer and Sverre Olsbu Røiseland rather unfavourable cuts with a hair clipper. The coaches had promised to go almost bald if one of their biathletes managed to win a title in Lenzerheide.
