Two former LSU baseball players included in three-team trade deadline deal

ESPN's Jeff Passan reported Tuesday that the pair was a part of a deal between the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Tampa Bay Rays, and the Cincinnati Reds. Gervase is headed to the Dodgers while Feduccia will join the Rays. A right-handed pitcher, Gervase made his MLB debut for the Rays on June 21. Since then, he pitched 6.1 innings through five games, posting a 4.26 ERA and six strikeouts. Gervase started the year in triple-A, working a 3.12 ERA and 63 strikeouts through 40.1 innings. The New York Mets selected Gervase in the 12th round of the 2022 MLB Draft, then got traded to the Rays last year. He spent the 2022 season at LSU as a reliever and posted a 1.85 ERA through 39 innings. Feduccia made his MLB debut in July 2024, six years after the Dodgers took him in the 12th round of the 2018 MLB Draft. The catcher has two big league appearances this year but was optioned to Triple-A in early April. Through 79 games, he has a .290 batting average with 80 hits, 55 runs, and 52 RBI. The Lake Charles, LA native played collegiate baseball at LSU-Eunice before transferring to LSU. He started 48 games at catcher and batted .233 in 2018.
