Torfaen council asking for ideas on next year's scrutiny
Torfaen County Borough Council's overview and scrutiny committees examine a range of topics every year.
This is in order to make sure council decisions are being held to account.
The committees have looked at issues this year like reducing homelessness, improving school attendance, and improving employability services.
Now, they want the public to help them.
They are asking members of the public to submit ideas so they can be taken into account next year.
Ideas need to be submitted on the Get Involved Torfaen democracy hub by June 18, 2025.
All the ideas from the public will be considered and reviewed.
The committees will then put together a programme of what to scrutinise.
This information will be published on the Torfaen County Borough Council website.
Councillor Rose Seabourne, the chair of the education overview and scrutiny committee, said: "I would encourage anyone interested in finding out more about the many ways that you can get involved in local democracy to visit the new democracy hub on Get Involved Torfaen.
"It's full of information about how to attend meetings, how to submit information, ask questions and more.
"The committees will welcome your suggestions on topics you think they should focus on.
"Please add your ideas no later than 18th June, 2025."
The five committees are: economy and environment, education, adults and communities, children and families, and cross cutting resources and business.
