Three emerging Celtic transfer headlines as Ambrosino gets second chance and Hoops 'lead' chasing pack for Man City kid
Brendan Rodgers is desperate to bolster his ranks even further ahead of the coming season Reported Celtic target Giuseppe Ambrosino is set to be handed another chance by Napoli. The Italy U21 star was linked with a move to the Hoops earlier this month after catching the eye on duty for his country at the European Championships in Slovakia. The striker spent the whole of last season on loan at Frosinone in Serie B and with just 12 months remaining on his contract, has an uncertain future with the Scudetto winners. Ambrosino's chances of forcing his way into Antonio Conte's plans were plunged into further doubt when he was left out on a training camp trip to Dimaro in the north of Italy. But it's now being claimed that the 21-year-old is set to be given a lifeline at Napoli. According to Il Corriere del Mezzogiorno (via the forward will be included in the squad that travel to Castel di Sangro in the heart of the Apennine Mountains for another training camp ahead of the new season. Napoli kick off the defence of their Serie A crown with a trip to Sassuolo on August 23. Meanwhile, Celtic are now said to be leading the race to sign Manchester City youngster Jahmai Simpson-Pusey on loan. The champions' interest in the 19-year-old has emerged in recent days and the Manchester Evening News now report that Brendan Rodgers' side are confident of pipping clubs in England's second tier to bring the defender north of the border. Simpson-Pusey has made six first team appearances in total for Pep Guardiola's Etihad giants, including two outings in the Champions League. Another player who is reportedly Celtic's radar is Go Ahead Eagles' Danish winger Jakob Breum. The Hoops are alleged to have seen a bid of £1.5million knocked back by the Eredivisie club and their technical director Jan Willem van Dop has now gone public with details of the bid. Fellow Dutch outfit FC Twente are also very keen on the player. Speaking to Oosttribune, van Dop said: "Well, obviously that's something to talk about if the price is right. "And we didn't get out of that. What to me was the only positive of that was, that they (Twente) offered at least already above the official offer that was ever made by Celtic. 'Because that was one and a half million. So his thinking was higher. "I at least indicated that we did not go along with the bid that they made. And coincidentally this morning, obviously we still had the agent on the line who hopes that he will go that way. "And we are, I think, really not the hardest club, but it has to fit. And if we don't come out of it financially better, we also have that that right, I think, to then say, 'Well, then it's not going to happen.'"

Celtic transfer news as Giuseppe Ambrosino meeting 'booked' and Hoops youngster lands permanent switch down south
Italian forward Ambrosino is reportedly a Hoops target but he's wanted in his homeland as well with Napoli looking to shift him Serie A new boys Cremonese are set to hold crunch talks with Napoli over a deal for reported Celtic target Giuseppe Ambrosino. The Italy U21 star is said to be on Brendan Rodgers ' radar with the Hoops boss in the market for more attacking reinforcements. The Parkhead giants are poised to land Japanese forward Shin Yamada in a £1.5million swoop from Kawasaki Frontale while long-term targt Michel-Ange Balishikwa remains in talks over a move from Royal Antwerp. But reports in Italy claim that they could miss out on Ambrosino, who caught the eye on international duty earlier this summer at the U21 European Championships in Slovakia. Local Naples outlet Il Corriere del Mezzogiorno (via report that the attacker is one of four players that Napoli boss Antonio Conte has informed sporting director Giovanni Manna to find exit routes for. They add that Cremonese transfer chiefs will meet with the Serie A champions on Wednesday to see if an agreement can be reached, with the Italian side also keen on Napoli's fellow young forward Alessio Zerbin. Meanwhile, Record Sport understands that Celtic are weighing up an offer for Cercle Brugge full back Flavio Naizinho. The Hoops are short in the left back department following Greg Taylor's departure to join PAOK and the Portugal U21 star has been identified as a potential open to provide cover for Kieran Tierney following his sensational Parkhead return from Arsenal. And finally, defender Lenny Agbaire has left Celtic to join Rotherham United on a permanent transfer. The 20-year-old penned his first professional contract with the Premiership champions back in 2021 and has been a regular in their B team but departs having failed to make a senior appearance. Agbaire spent the second half of last season on loan at Ayr United under Hoops legend Scott Brown and has now joined EFL League One side on a three-year-contract for an undisclosed fee. Celtic transfer news as Giuesppe Ambrosino rivals confirm interest as Nicolas Kuhn gets Como blessing
Ambrosino recently caught the eye at the U21 European Championships in Slovakia Serie A new boys Cremonese have confirmed their interest in reported Celtic target Giuseppe Ambrosino. Brendan Rodgers has recruited Fulham youngster Callum Osmand and is said to be close to sealing a £1.5million swoop for Japanese frontman Shin Yamada but the Irishman may look to provide further competition to Daizen Maeda and Adam Idah in the forward department. The Hoops have been tracking Napoli 's Ambrosino, who found the target for Italy U21s in their European Championship quarter final defeat to Germany last week. But the 21-year-old also has a number of suitors in Italy's top-flight and Cremonese's sporting director Simone Giacchetta has revealed the starlet is one of several players from the Scudetto winners they are actively pursuing after sealing their Serie A return via the second tier play-offs last season. Speaking to Radio Marte (via he said: "Do we want to build a strong team to stay in Serie A? Yes, our goal is clear: we want to fight until the end for survival. "Could Giuseppe Ambrosino be a good addition to our squad? We're interested in many young players, and Ambrosino certainly deserves close attention. While he's not yet a top goalscorer, he's shown some interesting qualities. "Have we already explored Napoli's willingness to sell? In this transfer window, we talk to all the teams you think might have something useful. "We're a newly promoted team and we're comparing ourselves with those who are bigger and better than us. Do we also like Alessio Zerbin, Walid Cheddira and Alessandro Zanoli? "Napoli has a lot of players, and we have to cover different positions. We'll be talking to various clubs, and Napoli has a lot of good players who, in my opinion, could be of interest to numerous teams." Meanwhile, Nicolas Kuhn's pending move to Como from Celtic is a good fit according to one Serie A expert. The German winger is poised to complete a £17.2million switch to the big-spending Lombardy club and former Scotland international Don Hutchison - who covers Italy's top division for TNT Sports - believes boss Cesc Fabregas can take Kuhn's game on even further. "I like him, and I like what Como has done under Fabregas", he told "Another team that's trying to buy the best players, but they don't mind doing their scouting and they don't mind buying a player that is perhaps less well known. "They almost got Theo Hernandez from AC Milan in the last transfer window, so they spend when they can if it's needed, but Cesc is able to work with less established players too. I think it's a smart signing." You can get all the news you need on our dedicated Rangers and Celtic pages, and sign up to our newsletters to make sure you never miss a beat throughout the season. And it looks like Serie A side Cremonese are now leading the race for his signature after they reportedly submitted the first concrete offer for the hitman this morning. According to Italian journalist Horace Accomando, Cremonese have launched a €3million (£2.5m) package for Ambrosino which also includes a sell-on clause. It's stated that Celtic are still very much in contention to land him as talks are ongoing between the club and the player's agent. However, it's Cremonese who have tested Napoli's resolve with the first offer. Cagliari are also believed to be interested along with Celtic and Cremonese. Brendan Rodgers is targeting TWO new strikers this summer after already landing Callum Osmand from Fulham. It's understood that if a loan deal is agreed for Ambrosini then the Hoops will have the option to make the move permanent next summer. They're also edging closer to completing a £1.5m deal for Japanese attacker Shin Yamada. It's believed negotiations are at an advanced stage and the transfer could be concluded this week. The diggers move in as Celtic Park pitch is dug up Should he arrive then Irish striker Johnny Kenny will likely leave on loan, but Rodgers wants to pen a contract extension at Parkhead. Kenny only has one year left on his current deal. Rodgers said: "I spoke to Johnny about his plan. "We'd really like him to sign another deal with Celtic and decide on what's going to be best for his development, whether it's to stay or if he needs another step to go out."
