'Muvhango' star Obed Baloyi to headline Emalahleni Film Festival
Veteran actor Obed Baloyi is set to make an appearance at the upcoming Emalahleni Film Festival — and he's excited to be part of the celebration of local talent and storytelling.
Baloyi, known for his roles in Muvhango, Scandal, Giyani: Land of Blood and Yizo Yizo 3, is a respected figure in South African entertainment. With a career spanning more than 30 years, he's also made a mark in theatre, most notably with his award-winning play Ga-Mchangani.
The festival runs from August 7-9 at Emalahleni City Hall, Mpumalanga.
'I'm honoured to be part of a platform that uplifts local stories and inspires future generations,' he said.
A Safta-winning actor and passionate mentor, Baloyi is expected to take part in panel discussions and workshops during the festival, which celebrates local film and creative voices in Mpumalanga.
