Thousands take part in Boyne Parade through Glasgow
Attendees marched from different parts of the city – from as early as 8.25am – before converging in the city centre for a parade to Glasgow Green. (Image: PA) The parades are part of celebrations for the County Grand Orange Lodge of Glasgow to remember the Battle of the Boyne in 1690. A message posted on social media by Glasgow Orange County ahead of the major event urged people to behave respectfully. 'I encourage everyone to look after one another, stay safe, and make the day the usual, enjoyable event for all.' Nearly 60 roads faced restrictions as more than 3500 lodge and band members – as well as those who followed the parade – descended on the city.

Marchers converge for Orange Order walks in Glasgow
They marched from different parts of the city to converged in the centre for a parade to Glasgow Green . Thousands of marchers have been taking part in Orange Order walks through the streets of Glasgow. The parades are part of celebrations for the County Grand Orange Lodge of Glasgow to remember the Battle of the Boyne in 1690. Later in the day, participants will set off in processions back to their respective areas of the city.
