13-year-old boy with autism missing in Glynn County

Glynn County police are looking for a missing 13-year-old boy who has autism. Michael Williams, 13, was last seen at around 9 p.m. Monday in the Myers Hill Road area, a Glynn County police news release states. Michael is described as 5 feet 7 inches tall, weighing approximately 98 pounds. He was last seen wearing a grey shirt, bright-colored Hawaiian shorts, and blue Crocs, the news release states. Man accused of shooting at woman, young children at southeast Georgia hotel

The Glynn County Police Department said a man was in custody, accused of shooting a woman at the start of Memorial Day Weekend that left a woman in the hospital. According to police, Brandon Betts, 32 of Brunswick, fired a shotgun at a woman, her 9-year-old and 7-year-old children and a man at the Royal Inn Hotel. Officers said they were called to the scene around 9:43 p.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound in the lower stomach near her hip. Police said they immediately rendered first aid until medical first responders arrived and she was taken to Southeast Georgia Health System's Brunswick Campus. While investigating the incident, police identified Betts as the suspect. Officers said "it was determined that Betts had fired multiple shots from a shotgun in the direction of the victim, her two children—ages 9 and 7—and an additional adult male." Police took him into custody on Friday evening and he faces charges for: Four counts of Aggravated Assault One count of Possession of a Firearm or Knife During the Commission of or Attempt to Commit a Crime Police said there may be additional charges. Armed robbery at T.J. Maxx leads to gunfire and car chase in southeast GA

The Glynn County Police Department arrested a man after an armed robbery-turned car chase in Brunswick. Officials said the suspect, Shannon Turner, brandished a gun at a cashier at a local T.J. Maxx and handed the cashier a note on Sunday demanding money. He reportedly left the store with $980. [DOWNLOAD: Free WSB-TV News app for alerts as news breaks] GCPD said its officers managed to locate the suspect's car Monday morning around 11:39 a.m. near the intersection of Highway 99 and Golden Isles Parkway. When one officer approached, GCPD said Turner appeared to accelerate directly at the police vehicle, leading the officer to fire a shot at the car. No one was hit by the bullet, and Tanner drove off, leading to a car chase that lasted 'several minutes,' according to police. The chase ended when Tanner crashed the car on Interstate 95 south near mile marker 35. He was taken into custody and to a hospital for his injuries.
