PITTSBURGH (Black & Gold Nation) — They say good things come to those who wait for the Pittsburgh Steelers that good thing is a 41 year old, four time MVP from Southern California. 'There's a few iconic franchises in the NFL. I played for one of them for 18 years. This is another one,' Rodgers said following his first practice with the Steelers Tuesday. Wearing that number eight jersey he had in New York, Rodgers was in Pittsburgh for team minicamp Tuesday, instantly elevating the Steelers offense with one flick of the wrist. He said his familiarity with the team's coaches, scheme made committing to Mike Tomlin an easy choice. 'The way that the conversations went between him and I, between whatever was in March or April and, you know, the last Sunday when I called him was some of the coolest conversation I've had in the game, definitely with the head coach,' said Rodgers. 'So he's a big reason I'm here. I believe in him and excited to play for him.' 'We're excited about him being here,' added Tomlin. 'He's excited about being here, but we'll make no bold predictions. We're just going to roll our sleeves up and go to work and let their efforts do the talking.' Rodgers spent most of Tuesday just working on individual drills, a sponge trying to learn the offence.
