One Vikings QB is making a big first impression on coaches at OTAs
One Vikings QB is making a big first impression on coaches at OTAs The Minnesota Vikings quarterback room has been among the best in the league for several years now. Kevin O'Connell has done a tremendous job of developing younger players, maximizing veterans, and fixing players down on their luck. It has resulted in several players getting the most out of their careers, and now the hope is that their former top pick, J.J. McCarthy, can be his long-term project. It isn't just McCarthy though, it seems that O'Connell will also have another young quarterback vying for his attention. Purple Insider's Matthew Coller discussed how undrafted free agent quarterback Max Brosmer made a great first impression with coaches at OTAs. Coller spoke about his thoughts about the former Golden Gopher quarterback, saying, "The guy that's impressed me, just to tell you the truth, and I'm not trying to be that guy, but I keep liking what I see from Max Brosmer. Every time we see Max Brosmer out there (first during rookie mini-camp, and now today, he ran a drill at the red zone and had a couple of touchdown passes. . .I like what I've seen from Max Brosmer so far. I don't think he competes for QB2, but he might compete for QB3.' The Vikings quarterback room, without Brosmer, consists of McCarthy, Brett Rypien, and Sam Howell. It is not common anymore for teams to carry more than three quarterbacks across the active roster and practice squads. However, if Brosmer continues to play the way that Coller is describing, then he may be making life difficult for O'Connell and general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah when it comes to making decisions.

Kansas City targets trenches, lands TCU WR and Texas DB in this 3 round Chiefs mock draft
Kansas City targets trenches, lands TCU WR and Texas DB in this 3 round Chiefs mock draft The Kansas City Chiefs' most important selection in the 2025 NFL draft won't necessarily be made in Round 1, and general manager Brett Veach will need to utilize every asset at his disposal to get the team back to the Super Bowl next season. Even as the reigning AFC champions, Kansas City's roster is far from complete after free agency. The Chiefs have needs on both sides of the ball, particularly in the trenches, where the Philadelphia Eagles dominated Kansas City in Super Bowl LIX. Check out this three-round mock draft, which predicts that Veach will help the Chiefs beef up their offensive and defensive lines before adding exciting prospects to Kansas City's receiving corps and secondary: Round 1, Pick 31: Minnesota Golden Gophers OL Aireontae Ersery Ersery might not be ready to start for Kansas City as a rookie, so this pick could backfire on the Chiefs' front office in the short term. But the former Golden Gopher has all the attributes that scouts look for in elite tackle prospects, and his tape alone is enough to warrant a first-round pick. Round 2, Pick 63: Florida State Seminoles DL Joshua Farmer The Chiefs can't afford to miss their chance to add a defensive lineman early in this draft, and while Farmer wasn't the most decorated pass-rusher in this class, his versatility would be a boon for defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo. Paired with Chris Jones, Farmer would get a chance to learn from the best and develop into Kansas City's next sack-master. Round 3, Pick 66: TCU Horned Frogs WR Jack Bech If Bech is still on the board here, the Chiefs shouldn't hesitate to pick him up as some much-needed reinforcement for a receiving corps that will need to reinvent itself next season. With Bech in the mix, Kansas City's front office can turn its attention to the Chiefs' defense with its final pick on Day 2. Round 3, Pick 95: Texas Longhorns DB Andrew Mukuba Mukuba is exactly the kind of ball hawk that Kansas City's defense desperately needs, and it would be an absolute gift to the Chiefs if he were to fall this far in Round 3. By picking up Mukuba here, Kansas City could make a huge stride in its effort to force more turnovers.

From the Minnesota Lynx: Nearly four months following the Lynx' trade with Connecticut that brought Hutchinson, Minn., native and former University of Minnesota Golden Gopher superstar Lindsay Whalen back to Minnesota, the hometown legend is returning to where it all began. On Friday, May 7, Whalen, acquired by the Lynx in a trade with the Sun on January 12, 2010, will make her triumphant return to her hometown of Hutchinson for a full day of events, highlighted by a pep rally at the Hutchinson Event Center. 'I'm really excited to come back home,' said Whalen. 'I have so many great memories growing up in Hutch and playing for Coach Rostberg. The all-day embrace will kick off at 12:00 p.m. when the mayor of Hutchinson, Steve Cook, will officially proclaim the day 'Lindsay Whalen Day' at the City Center. Following the proclamation, Whalen will stop at St. Anastasia Elementary School and then the Hutchinson Orthopedic & Fracture Clinic where she'll meet with physical therapy and pediatric patients. An appearance at Zella's Restaurant will follow. Whalen will sign autographs at each stop. 'We are thrilled that Lindsay has come home to play in Minnesota again,' said Cook. 'After her outstanding careers in Hutchinson and with the Gophers, we were all hoping that she would become a member of the Lynx someday. Now that it has become a reality there is a lot of excitement in the community. Friday will be a memorable day for Hutchinson as we welcome Lindsay home.' The grand finale of Friday's festivities will come when residents of Hutchinson pack the Events Center to formally welcome home Lindsay during a pep rally. John Mons, station manager of local radio station KDUZ, will emcee the event that will feature guest speakers, including Whalen's former high school coach Andy Rostberg, Cook and other important people in Whalen's life.
