San Sebastian outlasts LPU to snap four-game skid
NCAA San Sebastian College-Recoletos overcame a tough challenge from Lyceum of the Philippines University, 30-28, 21-25, 18-25, 25-22, 15-8, on Saturday in the NCAA Season 100 men's volleyball tournament at the San Andres Gym in Manila. The win came after San Sebastian lost four consecutive games against De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde, Colegio de San Juan de Letran, University of Perpetual Help System DALTA, and Mapua University. After falling in Sets 2 and 3, the Golden Stags managed to recover and claimed the fourth set before momentum shifted on their end as they took an early 7-2 lead in the deciding frame. The Golden Stags then continued to cruise to a 10-4 lead before Christian Alba went clutch in the final stretch to claim the victory. Alba led the Golden Stags with 26 points from 20 attacks, four blocks, and two aces, while Villamor added 18 points on top of 30 receptions and seven digs. Aaron Binondo added 11 while Enzo Leal showed up for defense with 15 receptions and 10 digs as San Sebastian improved to 5-12. Mark Lanorio and David Talento had 12 and 10 points, respectively, as LPU moved to 2-14.
